NL100 : good or bad spot to bluff ?

Villain is 18/15/2.1
ftcb 45% flop and 40% turn

He calls 17% and 3bet 5% of steal from the blind.

I played 5k hands with him. He sees me as a nitty reg that doesn't do anything crazy or bluff a lot.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $1(BB) Poker Stars
SB ($86.50)
BB ($118)
UTG ($41.38)
UTG+1 ($68.59)
UTG+2 ($103)
MP1 ($154)
CO ($47.36)
Hero ($100)

Dealt to Hero 8 6

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $3, fold, BB calls $2

FLOP ($6.50) T A A

BB checks, Hero bets $4, BB calls $4

TURN ($14.50) T A A 9

BB checks, Hero bets $8.50

I thought that a double barrel was good because he probably folds his Tx and small PPs.

What do you think please ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: NL100 : good or bad spot to bluff ?

Seems like most people would bet more if they had an A. If he is actually folding his Tx hands then the bet is pretty good. As for the river... I dunno if I like trying to make people fold trip aces in a button v blind situation.

Is this what he is pretty much calling with pre? Assuming your stats are for non-sb steals.
(I'm sure he is calling less v a nitty reg)

Because that seems pretty loose but there are a lot of Ax hands.

what's so abnormal about his stats that makes this a fold pre? pretty sure this is a really easy/standart open.

u gotta fire 3 here alot or give up ott, but either way your sizing makes me sad.

Re: NL100 : good or bad spot to bluff ?

I'm pretty sure that bluffing here is lighting money on fire. He'll fold small pp's some of the time but I'm not sure how often he peels a flop with those.

If you're gonna bluff, make it like 11 or stn. This bet is not going to work the 40ish% needed for it to be profitable.

Re: NL100 : good or bad spot to bluff ?

if he's aware that you're nitty, he won't call this flop light so imo give it up
no way he's folding a Tx unless you tripple it, but then again sizing's too low imo

Re: NL100 : good or bad spot to bluff ?

Villain is 18/15/2.1 (generally loose)
ftcb 45% flop and 40% turn (never folds to cbets and rarely on turn)

He calls 17% and 3bet 5% of steal from the blind. (3bets actively and has 17% vpip in BB)

I played 5k hands with him. He sees me as a nitty reg that doesn't do anything crazy or bluff a lot. (decent sample size)

everything is parenthesis = don't steal vs this guy.

edit: also nothing really is standard if you think about...before I responded yesterday I thought oh this is a standard open, then I took a step back and asked what it accomplishes. The answer is: not a whole lot.

Last edited by pokerarb; 02-09-2012 at 05:24 PM. Reason: literally printing money atc stealing vrs this guy

So u just never steal w/ a player like this in the BB unless u have AT+ or something? If you aren't opening 86s here what are u opening?
