It is not realistic to expect a great deal of strategy to be posted here, but that shouldn't take away any value from the forum. There are plenty of useful, helpful, motivational, supportive, charity-based, game-improvement, and other type threads to make it a worthwhile place for people to post.

Still working on this, but hopefully we'll get at least someone else green here soon.

Nobody can force strat discussions, but I will always believe that even though this isn't the micro's or beginners forum, such threads shouldn't be intentionally derailed/trolled just because they exist.

And while there is traffic from the OT threads here, if one considers the goal to grow the forums, it is hard to do with the same X people in only that context. Still, you guys are your own community and have done a nice job with items like the charity items, motivational goal threads, etc. It is appreciated.

If a reasonably sensible strategy thread is started, then I wouldn't expect to see people intentionally trolling it. People aren't trying to stop strategy discussion from happening. It will receive honest and serious responses, but it may not generate a whole lot of discussion.

When inappropriate (too basic, plain silly, etc.) strategy threads are started then they invite trolling BUT most of those responses are still good natured with an attempt to be funny, rather than simply rude. And often the light hearted responses include genuine advice even if it may not be obvious.

Yeah, I apologize for using sloppy wording. I'm not arguing that SSFR should be closed. I'm just saying, from 2+2's point of view, that this forum being nothing more than a hangout spot for a small group of people is not really providing much utility. In this scenario they could almost assuredly consolidate it with MSFR and HSNL and nobody would be left worse off. Or just make one low content NL forum and one strategy NL forum, allowing those that want to talk strat free to do so, and those who want to socialize to do so. That's all I meant.

While I agree with all this one thing I can't help but find funny is that posting strat and such is bad here but not PG&C where a large portion of this very forum has blogs. In the last two years I've learned more from single threads in that forum than I have from every post here in SSFR. Also, I'm not trying to put anybody on blast. I enjoy those PG&C threads and some of the guys who have threads there do post in threads here. I just don't get the logic of those who share hands and strat in one forum but not another. Is the 0.01% chance people find your blog super entertaining and some site comes knocking the reason? Is it the intermingling of a wide range of people who have success at both much high and lower stakes being able to freely interact?
