Hmmm, we must be on the same wavelength though I am doing it a little bit differently. I am trying to lose my entire roll, but I waited til I got to Colombia to do it. When in doubt, move down. Playing on a short roll sucks. I decided to put my ego and pride at risk as opposed to my BR, and I only feel like slightly less of a man for it

Do you plan out your meals weekly or what? If so could you break down a typical week as to what you're consuming and when? Great work, btw, very impressive!

My diet is good right now. It's not on par with your most dedicated bodybuilder of course, but I may tighten it up as I get closer to being as lean as I'd like to get. So I don't plan ahead, although I try to make sure I have skimmed milk, oatmeal, fruit, and at least one ready meal in the house at all times. I eat 6-7 times a day, and I make sure I am never hungry when I am playing poker.

Typical day:

Get up @12:30 and have either shake (skimmed milk, protein powder, creatine, banana, and frozen raspberries or blueberries) or oatmeal (porridge) with banana/fruit. Plus some type of pre-workout energy boost + multi vitamins, fish oil, magnesium tablets.

I'll have a protein drink later in the day too.

I love chicken, so will grill 2-4 chicken breasts and have them plain (with ketchup)

I also eat 1-2 ready meals from M&S from their "Count on Us" or "Fuller Longer" range. They have around 300-400 calories and are pretty good.

At least one more banana.

3-4 satsumas/tangerines right now.

1 or 2 half Peanut Butter sandwiches

I record everything on my Nutracheck app which is the best app for UK as has a good database of UK products. (Ignore the times on the following screen shot as I often record items in one go later in the day, rather than as I eat)

lol, yeah, it gets much harder as you get older. I first noticed a change at 26 when I could no longer eat whatever I wanted without seeing a difference. Then mid-thirties it gets tougher too. Three years ago I managed to lose 18 lbs in 24 days of working out really hard, but even now it's harder still. (I have just got in from a visit to my physio, and we were talking about this exact thing.) The way I see it, is even if you go several days without seeing a transformation, if you keep doing the right thing then you will see improvements.

Hey Prid, i leave for Bkk on Saturday, I arrive on Sunday night and staying in bkk for 2 days/nights, after that who knows haha I think the plan is to go to Chiang Mai first and also Kanchanaburi. I'm hanging around for just over a month and want to get to Vietnam + Cambodia briefly as well as Thailand. Gonna speak to some travel advisors or w/e and see what flights we can book in bkk when we get there.

Spoiler:
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

It sucks trying to lose weight the older you get. It's not the losing that's hard, it's the maintaining that gets more and more difficult. Things that worked 5-10 years ago don't anymore. I always drop weight in the summer from walking for my golf sessions then put the weight back on after the holidays. I'm hoping this year will be different. I'm trying to work out every day. The weather has not been cooperative with all the snow this year and twice I've "tweaked" my back so I can't workout.

On another note - I sucked at poker last night. I tried to run over the tables and have tire tracks all over my back today....

I need to stop trying to do that and just let the games come to me.

See what running over the tables looks like:

on the bright side, I am increasing my volume....

Surely preflop is way too loose tobe. If we're calling 64s we're calling waaaay too many hands?
    02-13-2014 , 01:53 AM
depends what % you steal... 46s is a pretty good hand
    02-13-2014 , 02:10 AM
doesnt it depend on both our steal% and his resteal % ?
    02-13-2014 , 04:10 AM
i think its def std preflop, dont like neither hero or villain's turn play tho

yes. When Im stealing about >80% there and he's restealing about 25% - I think it's a must call there.

After just four losing days in 60, over the last two days I've just had cooler after cooler after cooler versus every bad reg going, and suck out after suck out versus all the fish. Then once that tilt is there, and your composure is gone, it's impossible to play well against the regs with small dicks that want to wave them around every hand.

When you're getting sucked out on non-stop, you develop these clairvoyant poker powers where you can accurately predict the cards that will be dealt ahead of time. Although expensive, it's great fun calling out the non-heart kicker of your opponent knowing with near certainty that one of those three outs is going to appear on the river.

I thought this chat was quite funny as it shows the mysterious logic that goes through the mind of a Dutch fish as he critiques his play. I didn't find the river quite so funny though.

When bad things happen to good streaks it's always a bloodbath. Keep up the good work Mike, nothing short of inspirational.

Same here. Last two sessions. Not counting the incredible setups. Kinghigh flush never good, 8x with KKvsAA etc. But overall im happy and confident with my game. Almost no tilt (ok 2 stacks blowed away yesterday), no senseless agression, just my ABC standard grind.
