I think we could get like 30-40 full ring guys to mount a campaign to get full ring zoom going. We could start off seeing if we can get 100nl to consistently run and move up from there.

has been tried before but never really worked.

I've organised a Skype group in the past with limited success. It could work but it would take quite a bit of time/effort in organizing and chasing up everyone.

NL100 probably runs as much as it could do. That is, it gets going in the afternoon (UK) and runs until the early hours of the morning. It may be possible to prolong it's life a little but there's probably not sufficient other players around at that time to get it running 24/7.

If you did want to do something then I think the best thing to do would be to target 200NL: Try to get people to start the pool around 5pm (UK)/noon (EST) each day and see if it gains traction. This is the approach that we took in the past, but it does require quite a large pool of regs to help.

The problem is the type of reg who's willing to give up short term ev for getting the games going is the same type of reg who's switched to 6m already or at least mixes the two. I mean seriously be honest why do fr regs who only play fr play? I know it's not always the same but I think the average reg is there to get seats with fish and have them pay them off. They're typically not interested in reg battles.

If you're playing to make a profit, then there is no need to get in too many reg battles at SSFR (other than perhaps to keep someone in check) and the regs that do this aren't the ones winning the most.

As far as getting the games going, for the average reg it's still going to be +EV playing with a reg-heavy pool of course (compared with not playing.) You're right though that it's not an attractive situation for a lot of SSFR regs, and that's one reason that it would take a lot of effort to get this organised.

I was just saying that the ones that are attracted to this idea have already realized mixing 6m offers more game selection and don't need this idea I wasn't saying the alternative was reg battles for the sake of reg battles

Yeah, not disagreeing with you. Sometimes I just like the sound of my own typing.

Well, its pretty obvious that full ring is optimal for the zoom format, but the main reason I'd like to see more FR action is because the rake is substantially lower than six max.

Can you elaborate? This doesn't seem obvious to me at all.

Because hands take longer I presume.

A lot more opportunities to fast fold, therefore much higher hands per hour.
