Maybe it is just me, but in the past a limp-reraise rarely happened and tended to be premium hands. Seems to be becoming a more popular play as a bluff. I've seen people limp-raise small pairs and suited connectors now. Is this just me, or are other people noticing this too?

I was just at a table with two limpers. I made it $5 with AQ. The limper raised to $9 and the other limper raised to $26. Wow! I've never seen something like this before. I ended up folding and so did the original limp/raiser. Such a strange scenario.

not including the SB, limp reraise is mainly used by fish with nutted hands, depending on the game a live player could get in nice spots limp reraising AA and KK and then balance it with bluffs so he could vpip higher (only necessary if anyone at the table has any clue but unlikely)

what u described is just random fish being drunk

I agree with TonnaMunz. I see similar plays a lot. Usually from less skilled players who think they are sneaky and don't know how to play premium hands.

I think we all agree that this is usually a weaker player trying to be tricky or cute, but I believe OP is asking if any of us are seeing this more often than in the past.

I feel like I am seeing it more. However, that may be observation bias at the moment. I play on Ignition and their hand histories are screwed up so we can't go back and verify an increase in frequency or if it is still just premiums. Also with the anonymous tables, we can't know if it is really happening more frequent or if it's the same player and just happen to be sitting with them more often.

If you have a database and are playing on another site, you can go look and see if the numbers are trending upwards.

My favorite are the obv fish that do that who limp then minreraise in say UTG when I have a big pair myself so I can lose the minimum. Bigger bets could be whatever one would normally raise from that position though, my guess is they're doing it b/c so many people raise them way too wide that would've just folded. If it's say button/SB/BB it can be any hand they would normally call with so idk. Ignition software is buggy so it maybe they just clicked raise b/c they thought nobody had done that yet b/c lol software.

Just call and play postflop unless they start limping more than they get dealt that stuff is what I do vs it now. I don't know if that's right or not, but whatever.
