2/5 NL game 450bb deep. I make it 25 with AA and get 5 callers. Flop is J6Qr. I lead out for 45, get one fold then BTN makes it 145. All fold around to me and I call. Turn is a 2 and I check. He bets 375, which seems like a big bet in live poker. What do we do here?
Villian seems pretty solid and has shown down nuttish hands building a 800bb stack. I think he would 3bet QQ-KK preflop and sometimes call/raise 99-JJ.
My image is pretty tight and not getting out of line except once.
My thoughts are I should have made 30-40 preflop and bet 80ish on on the flop.
I agree with your first two points for sure. However, if we bet half pot on the turn is it with the intention of calling, shoving over, or folding to a raise?
if you thinking about a check/fold here
a thin bet for value definitely means a bet/fold
i can see him call the turn with worse hands, but very few worse hands he raises ott
Good point. Since six people saw the flop I told myself I wouldn't go crazy like I have before. That thought process led me to play that hand too weakly. Thanks for the input.
Why do we need to raise more pre to play oop against a 800bb stack deep? If you are opening I don't see a point in going more than 30 unless the standard raise is higher. Ur hand isn't that good oop and deep unless u hit a set or raised pre. Pry bet fold 80ish otf. Based on your read, seems like an ez fold on the flop, especially on the turn unless u have a good read on him raising flop cbets light and just because. And in that case you have to check call down which doesn't seem real appealing anyway deep. I don't see why playing live makes any difference in how you play a hand or not.
