The guy that was opening too much kinda got the hint after 3 or 4 3bets and few sqzes from me and its like I passed up on few spots too, he started tightening up and at the end after his friend busted the main event shook my hand and left cus I was the only one that kind of owned him in few spots.

Was going go post few interesting spots but im feeling lazy and sleepy so maybe later. Overall though im probably not coming back here, I dont like the chips I dont like how its 10 handed, im really used to 1k max buy in, and the waitresses are not anywhere as hot.
What casino do you usually go to?

What's their max buy-in? And I totally agree playing 10-handed sucks.

I usually play at parx, where it's 9 handed and the buy in is 300-1000 at 2/5.

Another thing is the dealers were all around slightly worse. I wasn't really paying attention to this hand until the incident occurred but there was a spot between a fish asian lady and some moron who payed her off. What happens is he bets on the river and she raises, the dealer doesn't follow the action and announces call so the other guy tables his hand which was a T high flush, the floor comes over and one of the players explains the situation and few players confirm they heard hear say raise, and she even says something like "Yes I say raise" and the seeing the T high flush doesn't even phase her, so the floor is like the raise stands and you have the option to call/fold/raise and the idiot still pays her off.

After the fact another player who was prob a reg there says something along the lines of you should tell her to pay close attention because she could screw up in a bigger pot, and the floor person pretty much tells him to shush and that it's not helping the situation and kind of brushes it off. I thought it was very poorly handled and very unprofessional, it doesn't matter how big the pot is, it is your job to pay attention.

And the thing is, one of the players did all of the explaining and pretty much made the ruling lol.

Also when I first got there he was doing a deck change or a fill and he kind was kind of a ignorant about taking care of me and 2 other players who were also waiting. He was just very rude and seemed to hate life haha.

just had a thought after reading luvin's update. it went "man live poker is ez", "maybe it COULD be a decent earning option to online poker", "but all the horror stories people have told post BF about the people there, the soul-sucking".

Then i remembered. I remembered I spent a bunch of time playing live after I turned 18. And I remembered where I live, and the things I've seen in the casinos. So help me compare, share your horror stories with me, the worst you have, about the people that make you want to kill yourself rather than grind live poker full time.

Because I've seen arabs peaking at cards and telling their friends in arabic (which I loved, as I knew the numerals at least), I've seen dealers get verbally abused everyday, I've seen them get spit on, get bullied into crying and leaving the table and all this by people who I'd sit down with at the tables everyday.

So let's have it, tell me your nightmare live poker stories

I've never played at parx. It's the same distance as the "B" except no rooms at the casino. When they make that happen I will be there trying it out during a tourney series (when cash games are at their peak).

I use to go to the casino every other weekend. Now that we have regulated i-poker, I will be making my first trip down this coming weekend. My last trip was 1st week of Nov. There are somethings I miss about casinos, but not many. I enjoy grinding at home much more.

There is a hotel literally 1 or 2 minutes away that parx has a deal with, its something like 60 to 70 plus tax. There is a series coming up from feb 20th to march 10th and im guessing the games will be poppin but the regs here are much much better.

If they are that much better why would it be in my interest to go there to play? I don't mind competition but if I can steal money from weaker players, I would find that more enjoyable.

I don't think you'll hear a "nightmare" story as you're referring to. It's more just the people you play with are depressing, the variance is depressing, and playing good poker while getting 25 hands/hr is insanely boring. Like playing live full-time you literally have to be able to lose like a month's worth of expected income and still continue to play well while also playing 25 hands/hr and it's just insanely tilting, at least to me. I actually quite enjoy live poker in small spurts, but trying to do it for 6 weeks for wsop was one of the most tilting experiences of my life.

But yeah as far as single instances of "nightmare" stories I guess I don't really have anything beyond people eating greasy food and getting the chips dirty, the wannabe pro who berates everyone who beats them, and sitting next to the guy who you can tell hasn't showered in quite awhile.

I guess I exaggerated a bit. What im saying is overall the regs play more solid. However I think being able to play deep with fish is much much better. There is just way more skill involved. I def think it's worth playing during tourney series.

at 2/5 parx has a much higher possible hourly (because its deeper), and if youre looking for entertainment playing 200BB deep is several magnitudes more enjoyable than 100BB

1) Was threatened to get knifed in the parking lot after I check raised some kid at Aria 5/10. Dealers, Floor didn't even really care since he was apparently a reg.

2) When I was at Hammond some fish chucked his cards at me and hit my face (he folded) after I rivered a straight and shipped it. I hadn't even talked to him or said one word before that

3) I open with A3hh. Cbet on 3d10h8d, cbet turn on 5h. Check call a slight overshove on the river to this fish when a 2 of clubs hits & he bricks his FD. He threatens to call the gaming commission and accuses me of cheating and colluding, then when the floor doesn't throw me out for ..um..calling?....he calls the dealer a racial slur and then loudly exits

And, also used to be yelled at constantly when refusing to chop, ever. So now just to avoid jerkoffs getting pissed at me, I just chop unless it's a time game. I think i'm giving up an edge there but since it's live poker at least that doesn't happen very often. I really think not chopping is insanely EV because you can get the BB to call you with virtually nothing, and then bluff almost all turns cuz they are pissed off. Still remember some guy giving me **** about chopping one of the first times i played live in vegas, immediately flopped trips and then when I check the turn he over shoves with AQ on a 8843 board when I have K8. Boy was he pissed.

i hear people have these crazy terrible live stories all the time but i never had one myself. played mostly live since about 2012 until now, the biggest complaint i have is just generally rude and annoying people, but never any of these wild stories. i think i might have just been lucky to have a good poker room

didn't that one guy who used to work at target that posted here a while back get stabbed?
02-05-2014 , 03:32 PM
nah, UCDLacrosse fabricated that story. thnk he just stole the pic from somewhere else.

bwillie, are you the kinda guy that brings thiat out in people? i dont really see it from working with you online but maybe thats the case? Ive never had anything remotely close to that happen to me playing live...

most of the time tables are good and everyone is cool. I dont ever get mad at ppl when they felt me or anything either. Only time i was being remotely a chode was when the dude threatened to find me in the parking lot. I was just somewhat overserved after a buddies bachelor party telling everybody that I went to phil hellmuth fantasy camps, that I can dodge bullets baby, telling them how ace king is a **** hand to raise with in cash games and other such nonsense, but didnt demean anybody, just was probably annoying. Most ppl seem to like me more when im doing the drunk jovial fish approach than when im quiet and look like a mad internet kid..ok 30 year old.

I had this happen to me once. I stacked this one kid (early 20's) 3 times in less than an hour. The last time he had AA and I flopped a set. He threw the cards at me and said "you ****ing have it every time", then he got up and left.

I'm headed down to the "B" Thursday evening thru Saturday morning. This could be the last time for quite sometime now that ipoker is running in NJ.
