If he's really 20/13 then he's likely to not be a good player. His idea of a good reason is different to your idea of a good reason (eg "I want to find out if he has AA" or "wooooo no ace on the flop, my JJ must be good").

I like the line tbh.
For those wanting to bet the turn, what range are you assigning villain and what part of that range are you hoping for calls from?
It seems like the only worse hands that call are TT-QQ, and they likely won't check call 2 streets here but they will bet the river if we check back the turn or they will check call a river bet a large amount of the time as well.
If we are betting the turn are we planning to bet the river if checked to as well?

Re: 100NL deep 3b pot AA vs reg donk
I would prefer a turn bet if we were confident that he's not ever raising the turn with worse value type hands. If I ever though the Villain would raise the turn for protection with his over-pairs, I think I'd probably prefer checking the turn. I know when we check back the turn for pot control, most good players are not going to try and bluff into us on the river (ignoring leveling). But I do think someone with numbers coming in around 21/13 probably isn't the best hand reader, so I'd call a lot of river bets and think it's a decent way to get money when we're ahead and protect our stack when behind.
However, I guess an argument could be made that 21/13 seems on the passive calling station side, so going for 3 streets of value might be best.

I'm shocked that successful players are advocating a turn check.
