Re: 100NL bottom set, what's villain's range?

every better set and 99 are potentially in his range and i don't think nitty 100nl regs will be herocalling this river much with KK+ given action/board. i think the turn is thin and river would definitely be too thin. i'd consider betting really small but i'm not even sure you're a favorite against his range that gets to the river.

not really getting this. why wouldnt' he raise at any point if he had set? what's he afraid of? the river cards yes, cuts the hands we're valuebeting but still it's a pretty much valuespot. I dont expect any 100nler to take such line with anything so i kind of want to think that he's pretty bad and got sticky to an overpair.

he can have TT/QQ a lot, not 3betting flop with 77/88 is a little unstandart but still pretty common.

Betting the river would be pretty awful

Re: 100NL bottom set, what's villain's range?

I would def check river as I think he just can't call with any worse hands. Could only really hope for terrible call from AA or KK and then I would need to see that in my notes on him before going for value on this board.

Only reason to bet river is if you think he has 77 or 88 and can fold to a river shove, but your hand seems to have enough showdown value to check.
