Re: Yahoo fantasy golf league

it's so ****ing funny how my bench does better than my active 4 like 80% of the time in the first two rounds.

Re: Yahoo fantasy golf league

I would have had a decent day if KJ Choi had not made an 8 on 18. A par and he shoots 62.

If this makes you feel better, he went from a 20 point round (-8, which would have been solo best round of the day) to a 14 point round (-4, which ended up 3 shots behind the new best round of the day). You lost 6 points from KJ but gained 2 points from each of your 3 other guys, who were now 1 shot closer to the days best score. Your actual points were the same, although anyone who didn't have KJ Choi gained 2 pts with each of THEIR guys. I had him too and was irked at his 18th hole comedy until I realized this

Jeff Overton FTW today

Wow. I had no idea. Crazy scoring system. Those four shots would have put KJ in contention to win the tournament though.

I've got Haas and Crane today that have a chance to win.

Are you Novles?

I'm just so baffled when I see people with picks like Overton who are in contention.

Re: Yahoo fantasy golf league

I make sure to always pick a couple of people who are under the radar, it's pretty boring to simply choose some combo of 8 of the 15 suggested by fantasy experts every week.

Overton is a solid player who makes cuts and has had some decent finishes the last three years, and it was a lock that few would have him.

I used Spencer Levin both of the two weeks previous to this one, Alejandro Canizares @ the Mayakoba Golf Classic, and Skip Kendall @ the Waste Management Open. I also had Brian Gay last week, who backed into 2nd with a final round 63

The fantasy "experts" suck ****.

That said I do think sorting by avg fantasy points scored per tournament and just picking the top guys would yield pretty solid results and you'd probably be a favorite over any of the so called experts over the course of a season.

A couple of them have done well, the rest are awful. I wouldn't care if they sucked or dominated, it's not interesting to pick the same "lock" people as everyone else, it's like picking all 1 seeds to make the final 4, not fun at all IMO

Double 3rd place bonus points unless something comical happens on Molders 2nd shot on 18

Re: Yahoo fantasy golf league

Memorial will probably see the cream rising to the top, so Woods/Els/Furyk/Ogilvy are in my mix, but I'll color outside the lines a bit and include some randoms like I do every week (**** Greg Vara) .... Overton/Glover/Cabrera/Weekley

Sounds standard. I'll sport my Tiger fanboyism and start him most likely.

Re: Yahoo fantasy golf league

I'm not feeling Furyk and Ogilvy. Wouldn't expect much from either of them, Furyk in particular.

Tiger is a huge X-factor this week, but I've got him starting Rd. 1.

Re: Yahoo fantasy golf league

Started Ogilvy/Overton/Woods/Cabrera, the O's are surprising, Woods proving costly

So ****ing standard. Go with Woods/Els and guess who lights it up but Mickelson. I hate Phil.
