probably best to either start with something really fun and easy like mini-golf - making clear that you will progress - or teeing the ball up and letting them hit driver.
i think alot of times women/beginners don't have enough clubhead speed and/or hand-eye to hit irons very well.
so definitely do either mini-golf, pitch-putt or hitting teed up balls at range.
So, we did it. I took my wife, 4 of her friends, and our 3 kids to the driving range. We teed them up and hit mid irons. One of the gals had obviously played at one time, so she offered some other tips. Fun was had, and the husbands drank for free at the pool afterwards.
Apparently, I embarrass my wife while I drink (and she doesn't).
Next time, we are going to chip and putt.
