What's in your golf bag

G'day all,
As i turn 33 in the next month I am just starting to take up golf and am putting together a bag- i am curious to know what everyone out in 2+2 land uses ?

I will start with my first buy being a set of taylermade irons (LH)

Re: What's in your golf bag

Driver: Titleist 905T 9.5* s-flex
3wood / 5 wood: Callaway Hawkeye f-flex (best fairway woods ever)
hybrid: Callaway heavenwood, 23*
irons: Ben Hogan Apex Plus, 4-PW
wedges: Taylor Made TP satin, 52* and 58*
putter: Odyssey 2-ball
ball: Titleist NXT tour or ProV1 if I'm gambling

If I could find a Hawkeye 7-wood I'd probably switch that out for the hybrid.

this is an honest question. why? isn't a hybrid simply that much more versatile? it even hits well out of the rough and bunkers. does 7w offer the same versatility?

I find that I'm pretty inconsistent with the hybrid but very strong with my 3-wood and 5-wood, so I figure that the same type of 7-wood would help me from the 200-210 range. Your point is a good one, though, maybe I'll rethink.

Yes a 7 wood can be hit from bunkers and rough it does all the things a hybrid does. It's just that most players especially high handicappers are more comfortable with an iron then a wood and choose a hybrid with its iron length shaft and midiron set up position over a highly lofted fairway wood.

I think it's definitely game dependent, but I agree with. It is admittedly great out of the rough and bunkers, but I'm just not confident with it. It has a lot to do with the fact that my misses are really unpredictable for whatever reason. I rarely miss hit my five wood, can hit it out of most rough, and if I miss it I know what the miss is going to be.

Re: What's in your golf bag

Driver- TaylorMade Tour 510TP 8.5* with Fuji 757

4 wood- Tour Edge Exotics 16.5* with aldila 65(Very awesome club that I just picked up but I think the shaft may need to be changed, too light and hits it a touch high)

Hybrids- Hogan 19*

Irons- Hogan Apex Edge Pro 4-PW

Wedges- Vokey 52, 56 and a spin milled 60*

Putter- Studio Select Mid slant Newport 2

Ball-Back and forth between the prov1 and prov1X

I'm set for the year I think. Next year I might get a new driver and possibly some irons.

Well, now you guys have me rethinking again and leaning back towards swapping out the hybrid for a 7wood. Stupid game!
