Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
I played 9 holes yesterday, the first time I've played on my own ball since a Vegas field trip a few months back. There was 8 of us, all guys I bowl with in the fall/winter. We are much better bowlers than golfers. We played here, Riverview Highlands in Riverview, Michigan.
**Warning, that is the most confusing scorecard URL in the history of scorecard URL's. There are three 9's at Riverview - Gold, Red and Blue. We played the blue 9, which is the bottom yardages on the top of the scorecard, starting with a 405yd. par 4.**
I doubled both par 5's and another par 4, and shot 43. My short game saved my butt, as my drives were all over the map. I had to punch out from under trees on the par 5's, which is a damn shame because even someone with my modest length could reach or come really close to reaching the green in 2 on both of those holes. However, the weather was perfect, the beers cold, and I won a skin with a birdie on #9.

Bitcho, that's nice. I had a feeling it was those irons. I'm supposed to play 36 tomorrow up in Sedona (I suck at taking time off from the game), if things go well maybe we'll get out again before you're gone.

You know I'm down, just let me know if you got time/the urge to get out and we'll make it happen.

Yes, that is seriously the most confusing scorecard I have ever seen. I predict the person who thought that up doesn't play golf and is possibly a woman. Or both.

Shot 39 through 7 before I took a baseball swing at a ball with my putter and watched the head go flying into the woods...
I had just taken my 2nd putter out of the bag last week so I just ****ed around on the last two holes.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Went out for 9 last night for the fifth time this year. My golf game was in such a shambles that I haven't broken 100 yet this year, and only broke 110 once.
Somehow, I shot 44 on a par 37. And my short game was pretty bad -- 17 putts and 11 other shots within 100 yards. Twice, I drove within 20 yards of the green on very short par 4s and took bogey. I've been working on a consistent shoulder turn the last couple of weeks, and it seems to have helped.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
I played in the second round of our club's annual match play championship today and was 8 up on the turn. I ran to the bathroom while the group ahead was teeing off on 10, when I got back my opponent had left, telling the other guys in our foursome that he wasn't feeling well. I ended up shooting 78, parring the par 5 18th after hitting my first ball OB...

I broke 90 for the first time today! I shot an 86 at Brookside 2 in Pasadena. The course is fairly easy, a par 70 and about 6300 yards from the blues, but w/e never been in the 80s before so I'm pumped.

nice job man
Played late today, just nine holes at Rio Solada (sp?) which is a dump 9 hole course. It's like ~2500 yards from the tips lawl...had an eagle on the 440 yard par 5 and shot E. No chunks again.
Also got a new lob wedge today to replace the one I chucked in the water while playing with tuq and so far I'm very pleased with it. It's a Taylormade TP black with 6 degrees of bounce.

You didnt break 90 you SHATTERED it! Well done!
Edit: I seem to see this a lot when people break 100 or 90 for the first time. They usually do it by 4,5,6 shots instead of shooting 99 or 89. Weird, maybe I'm just making stuff up.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Yeah, not gonna talk about my round today, but did play a beautiful course. I only took one pic, and it was merely with my camera phone, but it was nice. I've been up to Sedona's Seven Canyons before but it's been awhile. Today was effectively the first day of monsoon season and we were stopped for a bit on the second 18 by rain and lightning but in the course of the day managed 36 holes, a shootout and a putting contest. I finished dead last and won no money but will almost certainly be invited back to an event I've only sporadically been invited to previously because the host thought the fact that I was playing my absolute worst but still having a good time was commendable.
From the 11th fairway, looking east, not long after the storm passed through.
