I figured that last thread was getting a little ridiculous and I have a pretty nice brag so I figured I would be selfish and start a new thread Feel free to delete if you feel this is inappropriate mods.

Played from the blues today after the etiquette post. 70.3/128 from the blues. Flatirons Golf Course Boulder, CO.

I was SMOKING hot on the front 9. Shot a 40! I have never broken 90! 13 putts, 2/9 GIR, 6/7 FIR, 0 penalty shots = SHIP! I had to be somewhere and couldn't finish the back side, I was so damn pissed!!!!!!

My lob wedge for 20-30 yard shots and my pitching wedge around the greens were just sick good today. I left myself 0 tough putts minus the GIR's and had one zero putt.

played 2 holes after a range and putting session today. brag: 2/2 GIR, both 3w followed by 9i on shortish par-4's. beat: 3-putted both. variance: was using ladies tees to speed things along. 20 minutes before sunset.

she made another legit bogey today (no mulligans, though still using a tee for every shot) on an uphill 260-yd hole. four 7i onto the green, and sunk a 35-foot putt. definitely a brag.

Yeah, like, what is too big about the existing one? Why do we need another one

The original thread is like one hundred gazillion times larger than any other golf thread.

Why do even care if another one gets started? Why not a new one every month?

Seems like maybe you should be minding your own business. Are you a Republican or something?

Better yet, let's all just start a thread every time we golf!

I'm with Clark... what does this new thread accomplish? Nothing. It's not that hard to click "last page" for the previous thread.

...but in case this thread gets rolling- does anyone wear two gloves? My right hand sweats a lot and I'm trying to keep a light grip but sometimes the club turns on impact.

i've been having a big problem with this lately, I'm seriously thinking about a glove for my right hand. yesterday at the range prob ~50% of my shots resulted in some kind of hand slipping or club head turn upon impact.

shot an unbelievable 92 today on a 71 alone.

I know thats nothing special but my previous best is 103. I was actually playing so good that I was pissed that I didn't break 90. I don't know if everything has finally come together or it was just a complete fluke.

Also, my obsession with this game is approaching dangerous levels.

81 today at Cinnabar Hills in San Jose, CA. Hit some really good shots and some horrid ones, in other words completely standard.

I played it a few weeks later and it was still an absolute bitch, the greens were still lightning but thankfully the rough was somewhat manageable. Can't imagine how hard it would have been otherwise.

Played last night after work. Got 9 holes in and played the best yet. I'm a 25.7 handicap (from the 7 rounds I have entered this year, just started playing), and shot 11 over on the front 9. I had a streak of 5 1-putts going which was amazing for me considering I usually at least 2 putt. My chips and putts were spot on, but my tee and fairway shots not so much, lol.

Played 27 yesterday in hot, humid Michigan weather. The first 9 was at Taylor Meadows. It's a pretty short course, perfect for me. I shot 39 with 13 putts. They would only let us play 9 holes because of leagues going out on both sides, so we went to Grosse Ile Country Club; the two guys I was playing with are both members. I shot a wonderful 89 with 35 putts. My driver is completely gone, I was hitting 230yd. drives with 40 yards of slice.I guess when you play one round a month on a regulation course, you can't expect much.

I played a round today that seems interesting enough to post.

Leslie Park GC in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Played the black tees, 6591 yards, 72.0/129.

Playing the back nine first and number 10 is the number one handicap hole. 404 yards with a creek running down the left then crossing over guarding the front and right of a small green. I hit a weak drive into the left rough and was left with 175 yards in. Played a smooth 4-iron to ten feet, then left the uphill birdie putt short. It was dead center. Bleh.

Score 39-46-85. The 46 was terrible + a couple bad breaks.
Fairways 5/14. Most misses within five yards.
GIR 8/18. One birdie and seven pars.
Putts 35. Two three putts!
Drives ranging from 229 to a couple around 280(downhill).

Highlight: On number 17 I dumped my tee shot on a par 3 short. It carried a pond, but rolled back into the water. Water covered the ball, but I decided to strip off my shoes and socks and step in. I smashed a huge explosion of water and when I opened my eyes the ball had gone about 15 feet to near the fringe. The beat? I was splattered from the waist down with pond scum. Disgusting and smelly. No pics available.

I putted terribly and realized the ball was squirting off my putter. A visit to the putting green after the round got me straightened out. It was annoying as I only made one birdie putt and missed 3 or 4 from inside 20 feet.

The first step toward recovery is admitting you have a problem. Or at least that's what I've heard. Usually when out on the course LDO.

43 for 9. Less spraying of the ball all over the place, but there were still some pretty loose shots. Putting as usual was variable and ugly - three routine two putts to start, followed by a very shaky four putt and two three putts, then back on track.

just got back from playing 4 rounds in 4 days at whistler.

round 1: chateau whistler (49+40=89)

really impressed by this course. it's tight (i hit one driver all day and hit irons off of a lot of par 4s) and the views are just unbelievable (15, in particular, drops off so sharp that i almost felt vertigo on the tee box). i played the first 7 holes in 12 over, the next 7 in 1 under, and the last 4 in 6 over.

round 2: nicklaus north (46+41=87)

i was expecting more from this course. there are too many double greens and homes on too many holes. it plays quite long and is probably the toughest course i played on the trip. i kinda played bad all day until playing the last five holes at even par, which was pretty much the toughest stretch on the course. facilities/practice area were fantastic, though.

round 3: whistler golf club (arnold palmer) (41+45=86)

great front nine, boring back nine. it's pretty tight. facilities and staff are mediocre at best. i actually hit the ball great this round but wasn't very sharp.

round 4: big sky (40+41=81)

the course is wide open and long, but it's like a zillion degrees in pemberton so the ball runs forever. i hit driver off of most of the par 4s and all of the par 5s after only hitting two drivers in the first three rounds. it was at least 35 degrees near the end of the round and i was playing as fast as i could in order to avoid heat stroke. overall the course is very playable and quite nice. i was only +6 through 15 but i managed to thin a pitching wedge OB on 15, miss an 8 footer for par on 17, and hit my driver into the water by about a yard on 18 to shoot 81. i'd definitely like to play this again if it wasn't so hot.

overall, my opinions: chateau > big sky > whistler = nicklaus north

I played 9 today... links style course + bad driver = ugh. Shot a 67. Only 19 putts though. 1 fairway, 1 GIR... only hole I 3-putt

I had to stop at 9 because my left knee was killing me. Hopefully it wont be a problem after a couple of days rest. I had ACL surgery on it a few years back :/ Anyone have knee problems golfing? Stack and tilt puts more stress on the left knee, correct?

Shot my second ever round in the 80s today!

par 72 6947 yards 72.8 rating 123 slope (Wilson course at Griffith Park in LA)

shot an 89 with 32 putts, 1 penalty, 2 birdies, 1 quad, and 1 triple. Really happy with the score, but def were a fair number of strokes I just gave away. Getting really happy with how my game is progressing.
