Pretty good ball striking day, one bad drive OB led to a triple, otherwise could have been better.

Also as usual my putting let me down. I'm realizing I have putting yips on short putts. I'm actually a decent putter from long range, but I miss so many 4 and 5-footers, it really sinks my round (and my confidence), and often is the difference between breaking 80 or not. I feel like I'm playing better this season than I ever have before, I think I could possibly get to my goal of a single digit HC if I didn't miss so many almost-gimmes.

40-41 81 today 2 birdies 2 doubles. Hit only 5 fwys and 6 greens so scrambled okay but just hit it pretty poorly. It was a practice round for a two day event starting tomorrow so need to get off the tee and hit some greens.

Yesterday - 35 - Sister course to mine, had to put the auto 2-putt on because of aerated, shaggy greens. Would have been 37 without.

Today - 39-41-80 - 4 birdies 3, doubles - Did manage to make birdie on 18 for 6 skins, so that helped. Otherwise my approach shots were not great, especially the less than full 60* shots I had into greens (driver was great!)

40-41-81. No birdies, 2 double bogeys. 69.8/129/6095 yards

No idea how score was that decent. Ball striking was pretty shaky, though at least I didn't hit many off line. Got up and down pretty often. Putted well, though I lipped out a couple birdie efforts.

played great today. 36 holes in 6 hours.

First round was a course record (for me) 86 (net 66). Finished triple/double/bogey. Oh what could have been.

Second round was 87, net 67. Quad bogey on 17. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

I played 9 holes just batting it round for fun, I don't know what I shot tbh, It was funny I drove a bunker is about 30 yards off the green, right up against the lip so more of me just trying to get it out than get on the green. Anyway I opened the face and hit it hard as a I could and I actually had 0 clue where it went. I was just looking in front of me hoping I'll see it drop down somewhere. Turns out it was 5 feet behind me still in the bunker.

I'm actually playing a course that I kind of don't like tomorrow, but I've never played this course when I've been swinging well or the weather has been some what decent. Tomorrow I should be able to have both in check.

On another note my local course is in a shambles state, Day after the club champs it really shouldn't be like this. Hit like most fairways today and a lot of 2nd shot's I may as well of been in the rough. Greens look like they have been battered to. I won't be joining this course again. It's not a great course by all means it's like a hybrid between a pitch and putt and a full course, I'm mainly joined because of getting back into golf and it's close by.

83-86 for the tournament this weekend. Didn’t have it at all with the ball striking or tee game. Short game saved my ass or it would have been 90s; pitched 4 to tap in and holed a bunker shot today on way to 86

Putting overall pretty good. Tough driving course and I spazzed on a few but need to keep grinding to be able to hit tee shots with a scorecard in my pocket. Have a one day event Wednesday so get to get right back on the horse.

Second place in the two-man Labor Day tournament for a decent chunk of change. I doubled 17 for zero points (combined net stableford), even 1 would have tied us for first.

Played pretty good, Didn't get to warm up due to running late so first couple of holes was my warm up. Honestly I'm happy with this and not happy at the same time.

Greens were rapid and could never get the hang of them. Didn't hole 1 putt outside like 10-15 feet and I hit a few approaches to this range. The 1 hole I did get the hang of was like a 80 foot putt up hill on the 14th, Unfortunately it didn't fall in.

Honestly I think if I didn't have the other 3 people with me (They are not the best) and I was able to take a bit more time over my shorter shorts I could of cut a few more strokes off.

But again I'm happy last time I was at this course I shot 101, Totally different conditions though back then it was like a 40mph wind, Today was no wind and just hot.

12 holes - +4

Played the tips with the wife in tow counting deer. I hit driver off of all non par 3s.

Have a pretty lax one-day fourball event tomorrow and a very competitive two-day FL Mid-Am fourball event over the weekend. No expectations or goals other than to have a good time.

38 - 38 = 76.

With a double on a par 3 (again). My last three rounds are my top 3 scores on my home course. Hitting the ball really consistently, but putting has put me over the top. I'm "seeing" putts really well, and making a bunch of 10-15 footers. Don't think these scores travel well, as another aspect is course management and knowing the course as well as I do. Still fun to shoot this well.

Ball striking mostly AWOL. Putting was subpar, chipping decent.

yeah Porter, doesn't matter if home course or away...you're getting the ball in the hole. tidy stuff.

Exploded today, Shot 89 and I'm a 6.5 HC. Definitely not the 1st or last 89 in my life,

A rule argument that did not go my way set me off on the 5th hole. I sliced a tee shot and it landed on the left side of a cart path, in an industrial area of the course. I'm right handed and would normally get nearest relief to the left. Problem is, if I drop on the left side of the path, my shot is blocked by a power pole from lines running through this area of the course. I'm left with no decently playable shot. I felt the pole blocked my relief and I should be able to drop nearest relief, on the right side of the cart path. My playing partner argued and would not give it to me. We where playing for small $$.

I tripled the hole and it all went downhill from there. I still won a little $$ from the F'er.

Is posting a screenshot of your card for each round frowned upon? Seems like a much easier and concise way of posting your score but I hardly see anyone do it.

Shouldn't be, I'm just too lazy. Although I just tried, and couldn't find a way to shrink the entire card on the GHIN app to screen shot size.

Might start using the grint app for stats though, which has it.

Damn, dropped from 11.0 to 9.6. Lost a stroke on a hole where I really shouldn't get one, I par it 90% of the time.

Well we finished T1

(horn sounded after our second hole and it was rained out)

We were even par though. Had 2 looks for birdie on our first hole (one being a really good look) and one look on the second.

Yeah I record all my rounds on the app pretty decent for a free app. Can go pro if you want. I also use shotscope for all my yardages stats, You can do this with the grint but it's a little bit fiddly during a round to do for my liking, Where as shotscope is 90% Automatic.

Grint also has a bit of a social aspect to it as well can add friends see how they are doing etc etc.
