Normal Saturday game. Not much going on.

43-41-84. (Par 73) 1 birdie, 3 double bogeys. 70.6/131/6300 yards.

Played a quirky older course. It was purchased a couple years back and the new owner has put money into it, was really impressed by how nice it was. Especially since the greens fee was only $35.

Driver mostly good, hit several nice three woods, hybrids a bit inconsistent, irons complete ass, chipping swung between horrendous and decent. Didn't make any putts (the birdie was a hybrid to inside 2 feet on a par 3).

47-44-91 (par 72), 67.8/117/5812 yards.

first 3 holes on the back 9 were so frustrating.

hole 10: 490 yard 5. i hit decent drive but tugged it a smidge and was in rough. i thought i had a decent enough lie so cranked a 3 wood. on back of green. 3 putt from 50 feet.

hole 11: 350 yard par 4 where you can take the shortcut and go for green but there is a lot of water to carry. i say screw it i'm going for it. i pull it 20 yards left of green. chip too far (of course) and two putt from 20 feet. i mean it was the easiest chip known to man.

hole 12. 130 yard par 3. 3 putt from 15 feet.

i should have been 2 under for those holes and i was one over. choke job.

40-39-79, par 72. The round was whatever, but what I did do today for maybe the first time ever is hit driver twice on one hole and make birdie. 570ish yard par 5 playing downwind. Hit a pretty good drive and had 270 to a front flag. Thought about trying to get a 3 wood there but realized I had no chance. Let's give the driver a shot. Figured I'd hit a low runner that might get close. Oh no. Hit a very high slight fade that landed pin high just off the green, about 25 feet from the flag. Putt from off the green to within 18" for the kick in. Nutted another driver off the deck later in the round but only managed a par on that one. Good times

Dang this reminds me that on my last round I forgot to try a shortcut drive with a practice shot on a similar par 4 situation over a hazard to see if I could make it! I had like 15 minutes of padding behind me and I was by myself, so I could have hit several of them. I've been wondering how far my longest drives at the range carry. My real shot on the round was my typical 3-wood where I don't hit right at the green and therefore have less of the hazard to carry.

1 eagle, 1 birdie, no doubles

Started with an eagle on #1. The bad was 4 3-putts on the day. Very easily could have been under par.

42-44-86. No birdies, 4 double bogeys.

Standard amount of idiocy, especially around the greens. Most ball striking was very good, including my best drive of the season, a couple of really pure hybrids and improved irons. It's not quite automatic but the swing is improving.

Got to say hello to Fred Funk today, I believe he was on his way to an event of some sort in Northern Michigan. Personable guy.

I've played all of these except Trophy Lake, and agree they're great. Home Course always blows my mind with how empty it is, I think it's a great course.

43-40 = 83

Funny round. Monthly Breakfast Club, we started on 11. 11 and 12 are fairly easy par 5s, but 13 and 14 are toughest holes on the course for me due to length. I really want to be even going into 13 and 14, because it's incredibly rare I par both, and odds are higher than they should be that I'll double at least one of them.

I doubled 11 after chunking a 3-wood out of the first cut (definitely shouldn't have used a 3-wood), skulling a chip over the green, and misplaying the putts. Got lucky and "saved" a bogey on 12 after hitting in the bunker, then went double-double-bogey to put me at 8 over after 5 holes. Then, things started clicking, particularly on the greens when I figured out speed and started dropping putts. Strung together six pars, then an unfortunate double when I flubbed a chip out of the thick stuff before three more pars and ANOTHER unfortunate double before ending birdie-par-birdie. Crazy game.

Cliffs: Started 8 over after five holes before finishing the remainder +2.

Past 2 days played 2 rounds at my local.

36-43-79 Par 69 12 Pars - 4 Bogeys - 2 Triples
38-46-84 Par 69 8 Pars - 8 bogeys - 1 Double - 1 +5 Over


First round I played started so good, 4 Pars then I managed to 3 putt a 120 Par 3, Followed by another 3 pars then on the 9th I hit my approach with the wrong club it seems. It was straight into wind but I caught it so good it just flew the green and it's the bad side to be on. Got another 3 pars to start the back 9 then it all went downhill from there. Took 3 off the tee from a snap hook. Then duffed a tee shot on 17 and had about 180 over a bush. I hit it over but couldn't find the ball.

I recently put up a thread on my swing tried to make some changes before I played that day but it didn't work out well, I don't think I'll change anything until play this charity event I got coming up.


2nd round front 9 was alright 6 pars 2 bogeys and 1 double. Sat down for 15 mins at the end of the front 9 to have a coffee. Then it didn't go well. Mostly just bogey golf. Until I snap hook it again on the same tee so take 3 from the tee, Miss hit it straight into a bush. So take 5 off the tee. This is a 500 Yard par 5 end up making 10

Oh man, Trophy Lake is one of our favourites. Give it a shot when you can!

1 eagle, 2 birdies, 2 doubles

Managed to eagle the first hole again today. New putter was good, just 1 3-putt and that was from 70 feet away. Irons not as solid today, 11 GIR.

I tend to double the first hole; nice work.

502y dead straight. Can't go left, water all the way down, but the right side is relatively safe. There are trees where if you go way right you have a window to get there. If you are in the left rough and 225y you can get it over a tree and get there. If you are 200y you are blocked out.

39 (par 36). No birdies, no double bogeys. Quite uneventful.

Played 9 holes this morning. Played pretty good.

Shot 38 (4 over)

1 Birdie - 4 Pars - 3 Bogeys - 1 Double

Double was mainly because I had a 9 iron distance into the green into the wind and I ended up leaving my 9 iron at home. So try to knock down a 8 but it just flew the green and going long is a big no no,

Cracking Birdie on a Par 3, Tee shot was like 4 feet away.

On the 7th another Par 3 I got onto the front of the green but was way short of the pin, Weirdly I stood over the putt and literally just lost all focus and just hit the put about 10 feet short. Gave myself a talking to and holed the that putt for par lol.

On the 9th hit tee shot exactly where I wanted to, Had a wedge is and bladed it over the green. Put a ball down and hit another quick and got it within 5 feet. Ended up making a bogey.

Overall pretty happy, I seem to be getting a little better into the wind now getting a little longer.

1 eagle, 2 birdies, 3 doubles

3rd straight round with an eagle. Different hole this time although I did have an eagle look on #1. 3 doubles in the first 7 holes. Was +7 through 10 so a good comeback.

Did a Justin Thomas today... Hit a cracking drive only to wait 15 minutes to hit my next shot and top it. Senior guys in front knew they were slow and didn't even want to entertain the idea of letting us through after the 3rd hole. We started again and caught them back up after 9 holes. We stopped after 12 holes. I'm normally pretty calm but today I felt a bit of anger.

Didn't really end up scoring but had 2 birdies,

41-41-82 today, which given the 6800 yard tees we played actually reduced my index by almost a full point.

The hole-by-hole was noteworthy to me for some reason. Triple on 2, Quad on 18, and 3 bogeys. 13 pars otherwise. +7 over 2 and +3 over 16...

I'm hitting it pretty solid lately, really feel in control. The quad was unfortunate, and the triple was just a rusty tee shot with no warmup really.

Played in a little charity thing today was pretty fun. Forest Course a lot of bare lies which really didn't go down with me. Don't think I've bladed that many wedges ever.

Didn't really hit the ball that great if I'm honest. Got it round in 92 (49-43) as predicted a longer course is just going to eat me up.

They didn't put the pins in the most generous places either and the greens were pretty rapid. I remember 1 of the holes I had like 20 feet literally tapped it thought it was good lipped out and went to like 15 feet, Saying that though I had 33 putts and 3 put 1 hole so not all bad.


Got 2nd in the Stableford lost by 1 point won a shirt which is too big for me lol... Good day though got to play with people I wouldn't usually would and was really fun.


Overall not my type of course maybe its the time of the year but you have to pitch everything short and a lot of bump and runs into the greens.

Niagara Falls CC: 100 (par 70). i was absolutely awful. nothing else to say.

38-40-78. No birdies, 1 double bogey. 68.1/116/6000 yards

Played a pretty open course with not a lot of elevation change. Rough was thick, greens rolled pretty well but were not super fast. A good course to score on. Pretty unusual round that I didn't hit any 3h or 4h shots -- hit a couple 3w on par 5s but otherwise the longest club I hit was a 5h. Instead I got a lot of wedge practice. Pretty much every shot I dropped was the direct result of short game FAIL. The full wedges were fine, the pitches and sand shots were awful.

38-37-75

3 birdies, no doubles

Only 25 putts. Never track this but we were playing snake game where a 3-putt adds $1 to the pot. My 25 took the pot. I did have a lot of putts from the fringe that helped.

Was +1 thru 12 and I was 10 feet off the green in 2 on par 5 13th, made par. Then had a Will Z-like miss from 10 feet where i missed it wide by 2 feet on the next hole. Then make terrible bogeys on 15 and 16.

Guy I took to the Charity event in my car and played with tested positive for Covid, So no golf for me for 10 days. I tested negative but better to be safe.

I must say he didn't look great whilst we were playing. It was extremely hot and the course we played was pretty open so couldn't even get in the shade if we wanted to, I put it down to the heat and his allergies at the time and it's crazy I didn't even see him take any fluids whilst playing.
