Yea me. Stopped caring after about 4 or 5 holes after playing my 4th straight day. Lots of doubles and triples on the back. Started working on my swing after a while.

Get to put the clubs in storage for a week as I am off to the Cayman Islands for family vacation.

Last played in 2008. Used to play to a 4, but quit because it was driving me insane. Plus my clubs were stolen.

I decided to maybe try again. My friend was buying a $200 putter, so I grabbed a set of wood woods (ping zings), a set of powerbilt irons with faux hickory shafts that I think were from the 30s, and a old bullseye. For irony I bought some of those matte finish vivid orange balls. About $100 total. I'd have gotten balata balls, but that seemed excessive.

I shot 81. He shot 85. He's not talking to me now.

(To be fair, the course rating was about 66. I'm not a wizard)

My men's club does an annual match play event and today I played my second round match. I'm a 1.1 and the other guy was a 10.7, so I had to give him 8 shots since I was playing the tips and he was playing the next set of tees.

brag: won the match in 20 holes
beat: was + 8 thru the first 10 holes and was down 5 at that point, was 4 down with 4 to go
variance: played the last 10 holes in -4

First round in over a week coming off vacation. Didn't warm up and just hit the course and I guess it showed. Also of note the pins were in on the front 9 then I passed the guy cutting the holes at the turn so no pins, just knew front/middle/back.

Tournament tomorrow, same course I tried the state am qualifier on. Hopefully goes better this time.

4/14 FIR, 11/18 GIR, 38 putts (3 3-putts)

A disaster of a start. Popped it up to the left into the trees/lateral hazard on 1. Had to lay-up on 3rd shot. Hit 4th over in jail. Chipped 5 40 feet from hole (couldn't go at hole) and then proceeded to 3-putt.

The other disaster was on #4. It's about a 270y carry over a lake. Slip on 1st shot and pop it up in the lake. 3rd was terrible contact and didn't clear lake. 5th finally cleared it. I think I was gonna tin cup it until I made or or ran out of balls instead of hitting it out to the left.

Good thing my iron play was good because everything else sucked ass.

Quit after nine due to lightning. A mixed bag of good shots with a handful of really bad ones.

on a positive note, i didn't take 2 stroke penalty for putting a moving ball.

37-36-73 (Par 70, 118 slope)

1 eagle, 2 birdies, 1 double

Played Babe Zaharias, a local muni here. Tops out at just over 6k yards. Greens are in pretty bad shape, fairways are weeds or bare. Basically playing out in a field.

First eagle of the year and first time I have ever made one on a par 4. 283y and downhill a bit. Hit 3w to about 30 feet and made the putt.

Played the Las Vegas Country Club for the first time....what a fun course and an amazing club house.

Hit the ball well, and except for an LOL 8 on a par 5, I did ok. 42-41-83

My daughter lived in the condos on that course for a year. Looked like a nice track.

37-42-79 in a pretty strong unpredictable wind.

Highlight was a snap hook directly at a water hazard that hit a tree trunk and bounced directly toward the pin into the fairway leaving me 120 to the pin. Hit it to 2 feet to make birdie when it should have been at least a bogey or double.

I think I'm like a 20 to 1 dog to shoot lower on the back 9 (par 35) than the front (36)

Could have been a really good round. Some mental midgetry on two par fives cost doubles. Sand play was abysmal. Lag putting was excellent but I missed some short ones. Need to practice those.

High variance golf, had an eagle and 2 birds today, a long with 4 triples for a 92. This is my life.

3 days in a row with an eagle though so that's nice.

Bounced my drive off the cart path and out of bounds (would have stayed in otherwise) on 14 and made a quad. Otherwise even par for the round.

After wondering yesterday when the last time I had a round with less than 30 putts I do this. Had a crazy good chipping game today, Good thing because the iron game was just a bit off today.

We are on aeration #2 of the summer and the course just opened back up Friday. For aerated greens they kept the speed fairly well and you actually had some really smooth putts.

Went par-bogey-birdie-par on 10-13 which is exactly what I had yesterday before my quad on 14 so I jokingly said I'm due for a quad. Made par on 14 then got the quad on 15

Played the tips at my course. Had no pins to aim at after the 5th hole. Played the par 5's +4 so I have that going for me. I was +5 on the holes I hit driver on. Now that should really say something to me. Tough dialing in driver with no range time before play.
