34-37 - 71. The easier par 71 course. Did not expect that. Previous best +5 to course, now on par. Never started more than 7 holes on par, now -2 through 12. Three birdies and bogies, a couple putts just missed too. Some irons were as good as I can hit and putted really well for me (28 putts with 11 Gir), but mostly just avoided trouble.

Weekly club comp and needed 79ish to have a chance at final, now should make it if post one below 80 I think. Friend played 71 too, was fun for sure. No wind helped, but yea funny how day before you make all sorts of mistakes and then the next day no worries at all.

36-38-74

1 birdie, 14 pars, 3 bogeys

9/14 FIR, 14/18 GIR, 33 putts (1 3-putt)

Pretty boring front with all pars. Wasn't hitting it close enough to get a good birdie look but I did hit 8 greens on the front.

10th hole was an lol disaster. Chunked a 3 iron off the tee. Proceeded to top a 7 iron after that. Hit 3 iron again weak and to the left still 40y short of the green. Pushed a chip and left it on the fringe. Then I made my only good stroke on the hole and made the 20 footer for bogey.

Once I passed the person cutting the greens on 7 and the person cutting the rough on 9 it got tough really fast. I hit much better approach irons on the back but the greens were too slow and bumpy to make anything except for a kick-in on a par 5.

I'm in good shape to play the Mid-Senior Fourball next month at World Woods in Brooksville. It's a gross scoring event. Our goal is to not finish last.

Shot 79 (+7) on a 69.3/129 course. Greens were actually slick.

Started on the back with a double-bogey (kinda sick of doing that). Played my usual game of pars and bogeys for most of the round.

The last two holes were an adventure. I've never hit so many balls and walked away with solid scores. Par 4, dogleg left, about 320. I play a draw 3-wood so I can have a wedge in. I pulled my first one, and it looked alright. My playing partners told me, "it's in the condos." So I hit a provisional and it goes off a tree and falls short. I hit my approach to about 10 feet for bogey. As I walk up, my original tee shot was along the OB line, but in bounds. I punch my 2nd shot up by the green (straight downhill). I pitch it on and can't stop it. I sink my 40 footer for par.

Last hole, I pull my tee shot left into the trees and hit a provisional. I bomb my 2nd ball. I walk up, find my ball, and hit it on about 30 feet from the cup. My playing partner finds my 2nd ball in a greenside bunker). I found and hit my 1st tee shot not even realizing it. I sank the 30 footer for birdie, not bogey (and a 79).

All day special today; shot 79-78-83.
First round I birdied 3 of 4 par 5's and was playing decent all day. Started shanking on the back 9 of the third round, was way too much golf lol.

43-38-81

2 birdies, 9 pars, 3 bogeys, 4 doubles; 4/14 fairways, 9/18 greens, 32 putts

About as ****ty as I have played in a while so I guess shooting an 81 when that bad is a good thing. Putting was really good today although the number of putts doesn't bear that out. I like where I am at around the green right now. Hit it in the water on 3, 4, 5, 9, 15.

39-44-83 (par 72)

2 birdies, 6 pars, 7 bogeys, 3 doubles
6/14 fairways, 5/18 greens, 29 putts (no 3-putts)

Another early tee time with not enough sleep. Shot better than expected on the front (+3), then fell apart immediately on the back with a nice bogey-double-double-double stretch. Driver was flaring right or slicing all day, instead of my usual nice controlled fade. Felt like I was scrambling my ass off all morning.

The importance of fairways and GIRs was very apparent: I hit 3 greens on the front, went par-birdie-par. Hit 2 on the back, par-birdie.

Today marks the end of a weird equal-nines streak: In my previous four rounds I shot the same score front and back (43-43, 46-46, 43-43, 39-39).

Cool! And the pics looked amazing. My last triple-header is from 2years ago, few doubles too after May, need to step it up lol.

37 - 47 - 84. Easy par 71 again. Zero birdies argh. Good up-and-downs on front-nine so one over par that. Two birdie chances but not today. Back-nine started a bogie-train and then made a 10 on the 17th short par-5. Second shot went into the trees and blueberry-undergrowth, took 5 shots there haha. Course was full and buddy kept eating blueberries so why not.

Gave my back a rest this week and it payed off:

40-40-80

Boulder Creek in Vegas. Played okay...putted well. Had issues off the tee here and there because I was still afraid of tweaking my back. Needed to par the last whole for a 79, but my drive went through the fairway and was sitting down in some really awful rough. Had to try and dig a 9-iron over water, but I could barely get any club on the ball and it went in the drink.

Hit a SW to 15 feet and sunk the putt for a bogey, though...so that was nice.

Sucks getting old huh Dom? I think back injuries are inevitable in life.

BTW I will be back out in January.

Shot 73-72 (73.5/131) to win my club championship by 13. Played solid both rounds except for a drive pushed 60 yards right OB in round 1. This was a weird year. The weather was perfect and we have some good players, but for some reason everyone except for me played terrible .

Should never gripe about a good round but my putter let me down today. 3 putted 15, missed a 3 footer for par on 16 after a great bunker shot and 3 putted 18. Had a bunch of good looks at birdie, feels like I should have made 5 or 6 instead of 3.

wife and i played a 2-person scramble tourney today at our course. we finished second; shot 70 gross. two birds and 16 pars. i only had to sink two putts.

Such a weird round that came out of nowhere after not golfing for 8 days. Didn't even realize I shot par till I got home since I finished 2 under last 4 in a straight downpour. Really easy course though and played from the whites last few holes as they were closer to the cart path. So played slightly under 69.5/118 6203
