First 18 holes of the year for me. Have only been playing 9 this summer.

42-38-80. Started +6 after 4, then rattled off ten pars in a row, which is probably a personal record. Just a really strange day.

Ballstriking was amazingly bad early on. Missed every fairway and every green on the first nine, but a couple were definitely in birdie chip range. Overall 5/14 fairways, that's 1/7 driver, 3/6 3wood and 1/1 5wood. Lost track of the number of trees I hit, but at least 4 solidly and a few more scraping the leaves. 4 greens only.

Needless to say, my scrambling ability was in the zone. Even if I didn't chip it inside 3 feet, I made most of my 6-10 footers. 26 putts total (and 1 more from the fringe)

it's amazing what i can do when i hit some fairways (which i did on the front 9). i need to get my tee ball back now that i'm finally making some putts.

true. it's just frustrating cuz i havent been this bad with the driver since i bought my current driver 8-9 years ago. **** golf.

Primm Valley Desert with Mendicant Loafer. Neither one of us could get off the tee very well, but everything else (except my putter) was working ok. Had some nice chips. Two birdies.

Shouldn't shoot more than 75 on this track, tho.

Matchplay, but I probably shot 3-5 under my handicap to beat a 6 h/cap.

I was 3 up early on, and then he pulled me back and we were level with three to play and I only had a shot on the 17th, the hardest hole on the course.

I managed to get up and down on the 16th for par for a half, play the 17th as well as I have ever done for a par to his 5 (wasted shot lol), and then up and down from the bunker on 18 to win 1 up.

Definitely the best I have played for a very long time - it was a nice day!

40 - 39 - 79. Easier course. Again lucky with mediocre shots. Three birdies and a couple of other chances. Some very bad shots.

Do you guys make it past the hole often when you putt from 18-30feet? One buddy I play with is a good putter and gives the hole a chance very often, I think I end up short more often than not. Especially when putting uphill. Not that they would drop more than once in a while, but feels stupid to milk it so often. Many times if I feel like I made the perfect stroke strength wise, it ends up tiny bit short or just to the hole (should be like 1 feet past I guess). /end putting rant

Not a bad day striking the ball, just could score. The pin placements were insane today. Side hills, plateaus, etc. Two birdies, lots of bogies.

I am probably 3 to 1 on going past the hole compared to short. But once I get outside 30 feet then it is a crap shoot and I am not so focused on getting past the hole.

Normally I jam uphill putts to take the break out if possible.

That said it is pretty rare I play on greens much above 10.

I also hit a million 3-5 foot putts in practice so a comebacker isn't the end of the world.

Thanks Come-backer problem might very well be the root of it, 1-2months ago was missing everything from 4 feet haha. Bit better lately, still not overly confident on those.

played the blacks at a tough course with a former college champion... a lesser college division (NAIA? or div 2???) and someone else knowledgable told me he was champion not the player himself.

partially very happy with my game as i think he beat me on 10 holes, i beat him on 5 or 6 holes. he didn't shoot good score for his skill level - i think he shot 80. i shot 92 or so. i had blowups. he mostly had pars and bogeys. the 10-6 hole score is a bit deceiving as for some reason my good and his bad holes lined up perfectly

golf is frustrating. nothing comes together at same time......... also, much harder to shoot good scores from the blacks. barely needed my 8i through pw today

1 birdie, 6 pars, 9 bogeys, 1 double, 1 triple

4/14 GIR, 6/14 FIR, 33 putts (2 3-putts)

Pretty meh day, didn't do anything really poor or really good. The triple was a OB off the tee. The double was on a par 5 129 from the green, just bad.

The club champion shot 79.

43-48=91 on a very easy flat course. 6600 yards but a bunch of tees were forward 71/124. Had 0 one putts and 3 three putts. Lost two balls on the same hole when I striped my drive with a nice draw but it must have hit a rock or something because it too a wicked high hop left into the water running down the left side. After dropping and not closely checking the yardage I hit 9 iron right over the top of the flag stick. Too bad it was about 10 yards too much and there was water behind the green I rolled into.

Positive note was that we were the second group off in the morning. 636am teed off. Back in the car by 945am.

Yeah teeing off early is so nice. For an MGA event we finished in just under 4 hours. Country Club life is fun.

40-38-78. 1 birdie, no doubles.

Shaky start with four straight bogeys, then decent. Lots of 10-15 foot birdie looks but only one dropped.

45-43 - 88. One birdie, 7 pars. Five(!) doubles and one triple. The big numbers were Ugly af too. Trying out swingchange stuff, but lol no excuse to barely hit the ball. Putting was good, hope I can putt like that when hit a better round. Eight am start here, and perfect weather, happy days.

The two guys I played with hit pretty long but not always straight. On eight they hit left and right, measured ball distance after teeshot (same length), was 130y. On 13th got to 140y, other one saw the funny side, other not so much, that time they were both ****ed too.

43-44-87

4 doubles and a triple. My chipping and putting are so bad. Any hole where I am not GIR is a candidate for a double. Typical hole is approach shot just off the green, horrible chip way short or way past the hole, 2 or 3 putt, bogey or double.

so....practice your chipping?

Won our monthly medal with a nett 70 - 2nd was a 73 and CSS was 73/reductions only. I threw in a quad bogey on the par 3 11th, which will be reduced to a 6 for handicap purposes, so a 1.2 cut is on the way tomorrow I hope.

I know you're right, I'm terrible regarding practicing in general. Only get to play maybe once every 2 weeks, and only real practice I get is the warm-up on the range before the round. Definitely need to work on chipping if I want to score better.

Played North Conway Country Club, one of the nicest courses I've ever played in regards to scenery. My buddy and I got paired up with a father son.

I was playing the best golf of my life. Had a 37 thru 8, when all of a sudden the son hits a bad tee shot and has a tantrum, then his dad yells at him. Next thing I know they are literally screaming at each other. Of course I hit a bad tee shot, end up going double, triple, another double because I thought I saw a red 100 yard marker but apparently is was the wrong hole. Used my PW from 150 out so there went that hole.

Ended up going 43-51.

Thought today was gonna be the day, but nope had to deal with domestic issues while trying to play.

37-41-78. 1 birdie, no double bogeys.

Really good day with the irons, chipping and putting on point except for one chunked chip. As usual I found a lot of edges with the putter. Driver was mostly awful.

Saved three really good bogeys after bad tee balls, in each case hitting full PWs to inside 10 feet and making the putt. Also 2/2 on excellent sand shots.

41-47 - 88. Easier course. Two birdies, three doubles and lotts of bogies. Toward the end played baad and was a bit unlucky too.

Been awhile from last double-header, now played the tougher course too, and 39 - 39 - 78. No birdies but 13 pars. Okay from tee to green, really good chipping and putting. Now got lucky bounces too. Season best, nice to get it on the tougher course.

Rough start 4 over after 4. After that hit the ball really well just didn't make a single putt.
