a three putt bogey is the nut low...
...it takes all the calm i can muster to not steam after one of those. without looking at stats i estimate >70% of my three putts are three putt bogeys. obviously something wrong with the brain game.

For some reason, I'm playing golf on Sunday in 115 degree heat. If I don't post a score, you'll know I died.

Nut low is a 4-putt double which I happened to do playing World Woods this year.

Last week on a par 5, I hit my 2nd shot pin high, just off the green, about 25 feet from the hole. I 4-putted. That was fun.

4 putt bogeys take a special kind of awesome though.

85 today. I'm leaving silly shots out there. My second shots were atrocious today, short game was fine but still can't make a damn thing on the greens. Progress slowly but surely.

40-39-79. 1 birdie, no double bogeys.

No real awful shots, not too many that were even bad. Made no putts. Lots of tap in bogeys. Lone birdie was on a par 3, hit it to six inches.

Had one of my best range sessions ever today. Every iron was pure. I'm screwed for tomorrow.

36 - 43 79 - 5/14 fairways 11/18 GIR 32 putts and most importantly a 6.2 differential

Was awful off the tee - hit wipey fades with the driver all day. A few good 3 woods/hybrids/irons off the tees and then my approach and short game was solid. Was 1/5 for birdie putts inside 15 feet so that's a bit unfortunate that I didn't end up with one more birdie or so.

Sadly was +3 through 16 and doubled the last two holes when I had a chance to shoot +5 77 (would be my best score to par ever). But the mental head case in me block sliced a ball OB on 17 :-/ then a 3 putt double on 18

Oh well - game is mostly coming together. 2nd ever even par 9 holes

Played another course in the area for the first time - this was the last of the "local" courses I wanted to tick off the list, and it was fairly nice. Much easier than my local but still had its challenges.

Finally started to tame my new M2 and hit a couple smokers late in the round, though forgot how to putt (I'll use the new course excuse for that though..) and had 39 total.
Broke my record for pars in a round with 7, including 4 on the trot.

Literally nothing worked today. Couldn't get off of the tee with any club. Time to forget about that one and move on.

Played a tournament today at Spanish Trails in Vegas. The heat wasn't too bad, actually. Had a nice breeze the whole day.

Had a really good day driving the ball. Didn't loose one ball and hit all but 3 fairways. My approach shots were pretty good, got sume unlucky bounces that led to two double bogeys. Had only one birdie; it was on a shorter par 4...hit a sand wedge to 12 feet and sunk a one-foot breaker.

Missed three other birdie opportunities with two lip-outs an another burning the edge of the cup.

The 38 was nice, but was actually 3 over the last 4 holes. Oh well.

Came in 2nd in my flight.

That is a head scratcher score coming from you. Not even worth a second thought, just move on like you said

Played Sleepy Hollow in some pretty strong wind with gusts enough to move the ball on the green. Minus a flop shot missing by a yard and the chunk following it along with 1 sky ball drive I thought I hit the ball pretty well. A lot of the misses were barely. Only had 2 3 putts which is actually really good for that place. Nothing like having to give away the hole on 3 foot putts. Had 4-5 putts that I though were in for sure 1 foot away from the hole only to lip out take a massive turn. Had driver/pw to first hole par 5 with the green running away and a front pin down wind. Landed 1 yard short of green and it rolled all the way off the green to back fringe.

This should have been an all-timer despite a poor day from the tee but I was too much of a mental midget. It was great fun having a hot putter on the front side for once. There were a good number of iron shots that were dead on and I could make the ball do what I wanted. Driver was mostly better on the back nine.

#1: Push fade drive into trees on the right, chip out sideways, 7i to 6 feet, make it for par.
#2: Hit green, make 25 footer for birdie
#3: Rope hooked 3 wood into trees, chip out sideways, 3i down fairway, majestic 7i into a strong wind, make 15 foot slider off the fringe for par.
#4: Push fade drive into right rough, towering 8i to 12 feet, downhill right breaking putt looks perfect but doesn't quite hit the center of the cup and lips out, tap in par.
#5: Hit green, burn edge on 12 footer, tap in par
#6: Pull drive with a bit of draw under a tree, punch 3i under the branches to fringe, hit 15 footer too hard, make 4 footer coming back for par
#7: Good drive, 9i caught just a bit heavy comes up short, chip to 1', tap in par
#8: Towering 8i on short (146y) par 3 to 5 feet, downhill putt wanders just enough (thanks poa) to miss, tap in par.

2 under through 8 and could very easily have had birdies at 4 and 8 also, didn't miss by much on 5.

#9 is an easy par 5, playing straight downwind. Decide to try and take advantage of the wind, get it up there just fine but it's a high hook off the planet deep into the forest and OB.

Routine par with the second ball for a double bogey and an even par front nine. Dammit.

Missed 3 short birdie putts, also hooked 2 drives OB. Otherwise hit a lot of quality shots, need to clean up the dumb mistakes.

Played my home course that doesn't return back to the clubhouse so I played 1-4 and 14-18, hence the par 38 (3 par 5's and 1 par 3).

Night and day difference from yesterday. Was able to groove a 3w tee shot a few holes in.

Highlight of the day was setting my son up with a 60y shot over water (he rarely plays) and he hit it on the fringe, but 3-putted from there including leaving a 2 footer short. Fun stuff.

lol variances. I was an absolute mess in the 2 rounds saturday, had a terrible warm up before the third round (shanks, fatties, thin shots, etc). Then striped my first drive and didn't look back.

40-43 - 83 on the easy par 71. Pretty uneventful, nothing works great but at least not terrible in anything. One stranger joined and bogied about 15 holes (laughed and cried "bogie, bogie, bogie... when does this end?" then capitalised on the 17th short par-5 and eagled it, was funny.

Can't think of a single decent thing from this round. meh

41-48 89. Tougher course. Weekly club competition thingy, was playing to my handicap the first 13 holes, then last 5 holes +10 yikes.

Really sloppy round...approach shots were not good. 2nd round in a row where I drived the ball really well, though. Plus 4 on par 5s when every drive was right down the middle is not good!

Had two birdies, though - both on par 3s. One I stuck to within tap in range with a 9i, the other was an 8i right at it, but spun back about ten feet. Sunk the putt.

I've really got to practice my short game. I feel really iuncomfortable chipping the ball these days for some reason. The only two chips I felt good standing over were both downhill, close to the pin for some reason. I like swinging from the outside and kinda side-cutting it then.

Why that's easier for me than a normal chip, who the **** knows?

Was crazy tough at Sleepy Hollow. Played from back a little under 6900 now

So teed off after som mini tour event. The grrens were a good bit quicker at this place from Sunday and the pins were insane. Wouldn't call them unfair because you could set a ball next to the hole and it would stay but if you dropped it from waste high it probably ends up 20 feet away, I witnessed a 7 putt and a 5 putt from just under 2 feet and the guys weren't awful putters(weren't good though) I pulled out my phone app on one of them the thing was cut on a 6% slope. Was funny

I grinded my ass off since I wasn't great off the tee

32 putts with 3 3 putts. I actuall putted well didn't miss anything under 7 or 8 feet.
