It's definitely the Par 3s for me. I just can't hit a mid-iron like a used to, so I end up with a hybrid on longer ones.

44-40-84 - 2 birdies, lots of others.

Was a 2-man best ball. My team shot 69 net, good for T3 of 6. My 12 HC partner shot in the mid 90's. So yeah, didn't use his score too much.

Course was awesome. Club was founded in 1895. The East course which we played dates back to the 20's. First club in Florida. Standing on the #17 tee I thought it looked like Pinehurst, which makes sense since Donald Ross designed it.

Highlight of the day was the 493y par 5 4th. Smoked a driver downwind to 179y out. 8 iron to about 50 feet and 2-putt birdie as I left the eagle 3 feet short. Did I mention it was windy????

Angry rant incoming

Never been so pissed about a 75. Was paired up with 2 kids who sucked but were quite good at sucking quickly. We play a pretty slow buy still 1 hour 40 minutes tops with cart path only. Then they put some stupid mother ****ing pos 4 ball who arr ****ing awful, no concept of ready ****ing golf or cart path only golf. Hey me and my partner are all the way across from the ****ing cart path so I will follow him over and watch him hit then wander 50 yards back to the cart and grab my kid then ****ing walk back over and top the mother ****ing ball 10 ****ing yards but now I don't have the mother ****ing right club so walk 40 yards back to my their ****ing cart and grab a ****ing club then throw some ****ing grass in the air because yeah I haven't gotten 1 shot high enough for the wind to ****ing matter. JFC 2.5 hours with a wide ****ing open course in front of them on a short easy course. Go to the ****ing range next time ****ing pos people. Hope they diafgf.
Didn't even ****ing appologize when I took a 3 wood and swung as hard as humanly possible and put it in the greenside bunker from 285. They looked at me as I cane up and was like my bad didn't realize you still weren't off the green after 10 minutes.

Didn't make a single putt over 8 feet.

Played a super fun 4 person Ambrose event yesterday at our club for the local Chamber Of Commerce. Played in a group with three mates who all love a beer just as much as a game of golf. Three of us play off between 18-21 and the third doesn't have a handicap, but has played as low as I think 5 when he was younger. Little inconsistent due to being so out of practice but a great swing and a huge hitter nonetheless.

We shot a bogey-free -6, which was a bit disappointing considering we were -5 thru the first 7. Ended up being good for third place, plus two of us won NTP's.

46-44 - 90. I´ve been sucking lately, really ugly. Especially irons, to the point where I stare down at the ball and don´t want to swing. Ugh. At last got a couple of hits toward the end and maybe some idea what was wrong, but not overly confident lol.

41-40-81. 3 birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Ball striking decent, chipping/pitching mediocre, putting awful. Hit a lot of fairways and greens. Way too many 3 putts/ chip and 2 putts. Putter change happening tomorrow.

42-45-87 - World Woods Pine Barrens

1 birdie, 8 pars, 3 bogeys, 5 doubles, 1 triple

Very, very odd round. I had 4 3-putts and 1 4-putt. I hit 12 greens in regulation (and was +3 on those holes). I just couldn't figure out the greens between the slopes and the grain, killed me.

I was honestly my best ball striking day of my life. Every iron shot into the green was good. I never chipped the ball all day. Had a lot of sand shots though.

Was a tale of two nines today. Teed off at 10am on the 1st hole with a threesome that was making their turn (local course runs off both 1 and 10 from 615am-8am). Joined another single on the back.

Front. Shot 49 with no GIRs and 4 3 putts. Only thing that worked was driver with a slight draw 280-290 every time.

Back. Shot 38. Driver continued to crush but somehow turned the irons on. Highlight was dropping a 50 footer, downhill, breaking right to left for birdie. If I took that putt 100 times I make it once.

42-42-84 Boulder Creek.

Hit the ball well, couldn't chip to save my life.

Seemed like I played better than that though. 1 double, 1 triple, 8 bogeys, 8 pars.

Driver was good. Was near the green on 3 of the 4 par 5's in 2. Greens still suck, recovering from aeration.

37-39-76. 1 birdie, no double bogeys or worse.

Pretty decent day, just playing from the whites though. Putter change mostly worked out well, though I did miss very makeable par putts on 15, 16 and 17. Ball striking wasn't great but was above average.

42-44-86

Highlight was hole #1, short 480yd Par 5, hit a nice drive right down the middle to 190... then hit the absolute purest 5 iron I've ever hit in my life, to about 8 feet. Missed the eagle putt unfortunately.

Couple of loose shots, and putting wasn't great, but all in all pretty happy with how I was hitting it.

Wanted to add something to this. The handicaps in my group were 5, 9(me) and 14. We shot -2 gross for low ball. The game is low net 2 of 4 (we had a blind draw since we had 3). We lost by 12 shots.

Goes to show that if you have all low handicaps in your group you are screwed.

Too many mental errors. Really only sprayed one shot all day, a 3 iron on the last that cost me the double. Putter was on and off, started missing short ones on the back, kept opening up resulting in a miss to the right.

Played another local course today for the first time in probably close to a year. This course has 6x par 4's, 6x par 3's and 6x par 5's and throws a lot of variety at you. Really big, well protected and FAST greens made scoring tough. Also lots and lots of water, OB's and hazards that may as well be OB's.

Two triples were really silly with three balls in the water.
