Road trip, much less exciting place than scottc25, but it's nice to be playing. Supposed to rain tomorrow though.

3rd round of the year...not bad, except for a triple and double on the back.

Played a local course (Gold Mountain cascade) yesterday 40-47. Had 6 double bogeys, 87 felt like an accomplishment lol.

Good thing you weren't playing the Olympic 18. I remember that course being quite a bit more challenging than the Cascade.

40-39-79 Saturday Round 2*

Saturday was brutal. Heavy rain overnight so it was cart path only. Course has a ton of elevation change and it's mostly clay soil. Clay + dormant bermuda = slippery. Had to watch most every step. About 12 miles of walking, virtually none of it level.

Techincially only got in 34 holes, it was getting dark. Threw in a par and a bogey for the last two to get the round "score" -- doesn't matter since we're out of season.

43-39-82 Today at Champions Pointe outside Louisville.

Putted like complete ass all weekend, ball striking was mostly adequate and chipping was well above average. Only managed 3 birdies and one was a chip in.

Olympic is definitely tougher but suits my draw/hook swing better.

Windy day at Rhodes Ranch with Mendicant Loafer...

Some good shots, some bad shots, some missed putts, and a double on a par 5.

Weirdly, we both birdied the first and last hole.

I like that course. All of the houses sit about the course and if you hit it up there it rolls back down to the rough.

Another windy round of golf with Mendicant Loafer...this time at Boulder Creek GC.

40-41-81

Decent round...had a double and a birdie. +3 on the par 5s, though, and that's got to stop. Feel like I was striking the ball well, but the wind played havoc with some shots.

42-40 at Mountaingate during a networking round, couldn't putt to save my life because the greens were so good, and the greens I'm used to are so bad. Did hole a downhill 30-footer for birdie that died in the hole, was definitely the best shot of the day.

Worst shot was an attempt at the Sergio-slice-around-a-tree with a 52 degree wedge that (1) did not slice and (2) did not land within the real estate owned by Mountaingate.

89 with 9 penalty strokes but only lost ball. Love courses through houses with tons of ob and being like 1 foot out several times. Greens were awful and slow, had 2 birdies only because the putts were 3 feet and a foot.

Iron lay sounds good though.

41-50-91 - A welcome back to Florida golf for me. Had the new driver in the bag so I hit it more than I normally would. Had mixed results and will take some time. Highlight was a 290y drive into the wind.

Epic?

Yes, SubZero. Also forgot there was on other hole where I have never been that close to the green off of the tee, also against the wind. I can hit some low bullets with it. Seems to me that the sweet spot sits lower on this club. Either that or it just has a bigger sweet spot than any other driver I have owned.

Boulder Creek - Played with a group of 24...we all put in $20 for various bets.

Could not get off the tee to save my life. Irons were good, though. They paid top 5 and I tied for 5th to win $20. My lone birdie also was good enough for a $140 skin. Woo hoo!

35 - 39 = 74 at my home course.

1 birdie. Couldn't make a birdie putt to save my life, lipped out 4 and only birdie was a 2 putt.
Was dialed on the front, hit 8/9 GIR then came back to earth on the back. Was Driving the ball really well

I ****ing HATE this course. Stupid design that punishes good shots and the absolute worst greens in Las Vegas. It's fine to have really fast greens. It's ok to have multi-leveled and hilly greens. It's even perfectly fine to put hole positions on side hills.

But not all three! Ridiculous pin placement. On half the holes, it was near impossible to get the ball near the pin with an approach shot and just as impossible to get a putt to stop near the hole.

Oh, and it was windy as ****. And I sucked ass.

Two pars. TWO PARS! A ****load of bogies and three doubles.

I will not be playing this idiotic course again.

My only consolation was that Loafer didn't play much better.

I just shot 113.

Still getting the driver straightened away. 3 doubles on the front due to tee shots OB or in the water.

Playing another 4 man scramble on Friday with 3 people from work. I have no idea how good two of them are so not expecting much.

I like it, have yet to see a 570 sq foot condo you can swing a driver in though

the living room is definitely big enough if i clear the furniture out, but it doesn't leave a lot of room for ball flight. it might turn into an iron only setup. still worth it imo!
