42-48-90 from the tips at Oak Marsh in Amelia Island. Freakin' tough as hell even though it's not that long. Birdied no. 2, but the wheels fell apart on the back 9.

Damn. For how many close calls I have had on par 3's over my lifetime you would think that one would have dropped, but no.

5/7 fairways, both misses were < 3 paces from the fairway.
3/9 greens, 1 of my misses spun off the green, 2 others were close

Made what was essentially a 3-putt on the first hole when my ball spun off the green (125y fairway bunker shot to 20 feet on, spun off) and I didn't know green speeds yet. Birdied 3 to get to even and then missed a 5 footer for birdie on the 4th. Doubled a par 3 with missed green, below average chip and then a 3-putt.

Start off double, double, double. Then get it together somewhat and go 4 over my last 6. Said **** it and went for the green on 18 in two from 237y which is almost all carry. Pulled it in the water right, made bogey.

I was killing the 3 wood early today, further than I have ever hit it before. Example is the 4th hole 390y (slight 5 mph tailwind) where I had 127 left to the green. Then the 3w fell apart on the back.

i can never understand this.. happens to me all the time too.

course i played yest i often have trouble with 1st 3 holes. took a lesson since last time. played really well 1st 3 holes, then alot of bad shots later. so the reverse.

anyway. as to the thread.

95......... took lessons for short game and general swing... seemed to help.... BUT don't know my contact point and put alot of very well-hit drives into the trees. really shows me how important straight driving is. almost everything in some ways. very treed course.

Ytd played in a company tourney. 42-41 - 83, 1 over on my hcp. But it coulda been 90 as well, hit 4 teeshots to woods and they kept bouncing back. Six got a prize of a trip to a tourney on a swedish golf course and my luck-ass round was just enough, pretty funny. There was one 17-year old kid who was 0.7 hcp, longest drive was 340 yards heh. Dry fairways but kid could rip it, drove to the edge of green on a 380y par-4 by cutting over forest. Played 75 cuz could not putt heh.

Thanks courses are finally drying out a little. The last 2 rounds I have averaged in the 270's + with the driver.(good distance for me)

I guess the good thing is no others. Couldn't make a putt. Had 5-6 of them burning the edge or lipped out.

The roller was in front of us so the greens were a little quick to say the least. Whoever cut the holes must have had a bad day too, putting them near ledges. I hit multiple good chip shots that would normally be within 5 feet that ended up 15-20 feet by. Some were just impossible to stop.

42+52=94

Round of two halves, kind of. I just didn't get punished for the bad shots on the front nine but lost two off the tee on the back nine and took three to get out of a bunker.

4 pars, 8 bogeys, 2 doubles, 4 worse.

48-40. Played stupid on the front. Back had a 7 on a 5 after being in the fairway. Crushing my driver. Putting still worst

Slummin it from the white tees today. It's pretty damn hard to make bogeys if you can hit the fairway on a short course, but the wind made things somewhat interesting.

Played from the tips today at Boulder Creek in Boulder city, NV.

2 doubles, no birdies.

This is getting frustrating. Played some really great holes, but still made stupid mistakes. A topped ball off the tee, an inexplicable complete shank with a 9-iron. Missed two putts within 2-feet.

Started the day with 4 pars on the first five holes - the one bogey was when I 3-putted from 35 feet away.

On a 425 yd. par 4, I get under a drive, it pop straight up into the air, and disappears into the tall grass about 75 yards away. WTF? I then take a drop where it went in, hit the most beautiful 3-wood of my life 250 yards right onto the green, 10 feet from the hole. Sink the putt for a par.

My driver was all over the place today, for some reason.

I have a serious question for everyone. How many of you just pick up the two footers and move on? If I am playing by myself I generally putt out anything longer than that but just pick up everything else. Before I play in a tournament I will putt everything out the week leading up to it.

One person I play with picks everything up within 5+ feet. Tilts me sometimes, especially since I play four ball events with him and the higher cap that would likely result would help us.

We play for money, so anything outside the leather, we putt.

Putt everything it takes one second to tap in a two footer. You should play that guy that picks up his 5 footers for as much $ as you can

I pick up 2 foot putts all the time. I also practice short putts all the time off the course so I don't worry about it. Mostly saves time since I hate feeling like I am playing twister to avoid lines and tap it in. If someone is having me putt everything out I am going to pretty much mark everything over 18 inches so I don't make a dumb miss

5+ feet ummm someone needs to call him on that filth. Inside the leather pick her up, if I'm playing for money and you're not rolling the rock that day, better putt it out.

if you're rushing two footers you're never gonna make more than 90% of them, especially if you're in a foursome stepping around lines. it can easily take an extra minute or so to putt those out.

as for today's round, 38-46-84. solid af. probably didn't help that it was 50°, super windy and rained a little here and there. and that i took a total of 8 shots out of the 4 greenside bunkers i was in. woops.

I wasn't clear I was saying that to the guy who asked about playing by himself. In a group I always play with people who putt everything anyway

37-41-78. 3 birdies, 2 double bogeys. 4/13 fairways, 9/18 greens, 28 putts.

Not a sharp ball striking day, though the driver was good the last 4 holes. A couple solid irons, a lot of off target irons. Chipping on the front was way above average, resulting in a number of 1 putts.

42-43--85 at Tiburon Black Course in Naples

Played the tips at 6,949y. The Black is for sure tighter off of the tee compared to the Gold but still lots of fairway to hit (as you can see by my fairways hit). I hit driver off of 11 of the tees, 2 3 woods and 1 hybrid.

One of the 3 woods was off of a 465y par 4 that was into the wind because of how tight the chute off of the tee was. Then had to lay-up with an 8 iron, then a 58* to the green.

Fairways were in great shape. Most tee boxes good, one of the par 3's was a mess of a tee box. Greens were slow, and in some spots on the back they were really bad. Below is #9 which was the worst of them.



Teed off at 1pm as a single and finished at 2:40pm. Went through two twosomes and that was it. Good thing as the thunderstorms were rolling in.

Putt everything. Just makes me care less about short to mid range putts when they actually matter, which means I putt more relaxed. Actually that is really the trick. The putts always fall if you just don't care.

93 today, first time touching a club in three weeks since my eye surgery. Felt a bit schmanky but I think it'll come back quickly.

Squeezed 9 holes in yesterday between grilling and boating. 7 bogeys 2 pars 2 penalty strokes for a 43.
