38 (par 35). 1 birdie, no doubles. 3/6 fairways, 5/9 greens, 16 putts. Sprayed it a bit but didn't pay too dearly. Made a couple 4 footers for pars.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
39 (par 35). Tree-lined, target golf course. 1 birdie, 6 pars, 1 bogey, 2 doubles. Bogey + doubles caused by wayward drives (lost balls into the woods, so re-tee). Very poor driving, good irons, and good short game -- basically, the complete opposite of what I usually do. Driving is usually the strong part.
Highlight of the day: Getting free lunch from partner when I made a 90-ft putt while we were practice putting on the 6th green -- first try.

40-43-83. 1 birdie, 4 doubles. Played a different course (71/127) and didn't track stats. Wasn't happy with any part of my game.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Had a 102 fever on Fri Night. Toughed it out and played yesterday morning in my two man event.
Pretty interesting format -- 1st 9 is match play scramble, 2nd 9 is match play combined shamble (both hit tee balls, select best shot, play own ball in).
3rd 9 today is match play alt shot and 4th 9 is combined match play

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
I shot a 45-47-92 yesterday at Arcadia Bluffs. It's a great course; very challenging, and very beautiful.
Highlights: I chipped in a birdie from ~65y over a 10ft+ bunker wall. The following hole I stuck one ~8in away from the pin from 120y. Hit most fairways and irons were accurate.
Lowlights: My putting game was BRUTAL. The greens were tricky and extremely fast. A few times I was relieved to escape with a 3 putt!

83, shooting even on the back 9. Lob wedge was on fire on the back side. Got up and down 5 times within tap in range. I'll take it after not picking up a club for a few months.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Play like 5 or 6 holes @ Hermann Park in Houston and pretty much played bogey golf. Experimented with the long left thumb and short/medium left thumb. Seemed to get better contact with longer thumb but not totally comfortable with that 100% yet.
I videoed myself with my phone and saw I am still get way inside on the backswing.
I made what I thought was a good conscious effort to keep the club outside but am still getting too inside. Long story short, I think my new thought is push the left hand straight back and bend the right wrist as I turn in the backswing. This seems to put me on plane very good in my mirror. Someone please tell me if this works for you because I will probably be adopting this permanently. It's amazing I have to force myself to keep the club that much out in front of me. There is NO substitute for video study of your swing. Why waste time doing something bad.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Damn I went to play today b/c it was all cloudy and thus a break from the heat and I planned on playing through the rain if it happened since it doesn't bother me much but I got there and it started with torrential rainfall so I sat in my car for 10 minutes and waited for it to slow up but it was just awful and the course started ponding already and then I heard thunder so I just took off. Golf blueballs. May try to play tomorrow but then I want to watch the beginning of the US Open. Don't want to play Friday though as that's when it's crowded.

41 (par 35). No birdies, no doubles. 2/6 fairways, 3/9 greens, 18 putts. If I hit green, I made par. Missed green, bogey.
Even hit a bag of range balls beforehand, hoping to find a swing. A couple encouraging shots right at the end, maybe I can compress an iron. Maybe. Short game sucks.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
48-48-96
5 par
6 bogey
3 doubles
4 triples
34 putts
2 penalty strokes
3/14 fairway
4/18 GIR
Last 6 rounds I've got nets of -1, -5, -6, -7, -8
I really think breaking 90 is just around the corner. I still threw away so many shots today even for me. Haven't played in a while and I wasn't committing to my partial lob wedge pitch shots for some reason. Also chunked a couple for some reason which I'm not worried about as it never really happens. Missed a few putts inside 6 feet or so. Made an 8 footer but that's it. Lagged really well today especially from off the green which is a great sign since that has always been my biggest leak.
Drove the ball better today after making a minor adjustment. Hit some very good shots for me which is a good sign. Only shot in the 90s twice last year and now 5 of last 6 rounds sub-100.
Best shot of the day was on a par 5 that I was lying 4 with 180+ yards out. Greenside bunker covering left half of the window to the green. I normally hit a fade with these irons (5i) so I aimed barely over the bunker and hoped it would fade and run up barely onto front of green and try to 2 putt for double. I had no chance for a 1-putt as the pin was behind the bunker so I figured my ball would peel off and end up short and right of the flag by at least 30 feet. I pured it but unfortunately it was dead straight and heading just barely over the bunker, I thought I was ****ed and it would plug but it landed just over and rolled up onto the green near the flag. I got up and ball was pin high 4 feet right of hole. Ball mark was 1 yard onto the green which was about 3 yards past the bunker. Made the putt for bogey. All it takes is a shot like that and the 30 handicappers will keep coming out. lol.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)
Playing an event this weekend. 9 holes of alternate shot today, +4 with three putts that were one rotation short. 9 holes of 2 man scramble, -2 with a disappointing bogey on the last.
Did hit a great 40 yard bunker shot to six inches, otherwise game was mediocre.
