Also played The Manor and The Georgia Club (all 27) over the last two days. It was so dry out my hands split open in multiple locations. Oh how I miss Florida humidity.

A shocker at the 9 hole Stableford tournament Thursday night. All of 13 points. Urgh.

This after going 38-45 for 83 on Monday which was my second lowest of the year so far.
I definitely struggle to get in the zone at these after work games, things are always too rushed.

Finally a good round for a change. Player relatively well 40-44--84. 8 bogeys, 2 doubles, 8 pars. I also hit the driver good for the first time in a few weeks. Only 2 bad ones, one in the lateral hazard I lost badly and one out of bounds, both leading to my doubles.

44+52=96

Very frustrating to start so well and then fall part coming back.

As halves those were 4 Pars, 3 bogeys, 1 double 1 worse. going out and 1 par, 2 bogeys, 2 doubles, 4 worse coming back.

Played day one of my clubs Ryder Cup matches. They take everyone, split you into A,B,C and D players then the captains have a draft. Holes 1-9 are modified alternate shot. You both tee off then choose the ball you want to play and alternate from there. Holes 10-18 are shamble. Two separate matches.

Shotgun start and we started on 4 so 6 holes of alternate shot then the game is on hold til you get back to 1 again.

Alternate shot - We were 1 down when we made the turn. Get back to 1 where we are greenside bunker in two. Opponents are 130 out in 2 behind a tree. They hit some low slicing ball that runs up, misses the bunker and stays on the green. We end up halving the hole.

We birdie 2 and go to the last hole all square. 120 out in 2 and my partner drops it in the water. We lose 1 down.

Shamble we play pretty well and win 3&2.

Heading into singles matches tomorrow my team is down 17 1/2 to 16 1/2.

We lost the Ryder Cup 34 1/2 to 33 1/2.

As for my match today I was 3 down with 5 to play after being about 1-2 down most of the day. I rattled off 3 holes in a row to square the match with two to play. I had a longish par putt remaining on 17 but opponent drained a 50 foot birdie to go 1 down. We halved the last hole and I lost 1 down.

Highlight of the day was going Driver, 7 iron to a par 5 and making birdie. I made 3 birdies on the day, although 2 were conceded putts and I just picked up.

Tournaments like this with an active MGA are awesome.

Yep, the decent course closest to me started putting times up on golf now yesterday, grabbed one for Saturday, a little range time before and some drinking during, will be a wonderful day.

Congrats everyone on making it through another winter. Looking forward to this thread picking back up.

As for me I am on a plane tomorrow but it will be a week before I hit the course in Vegas and then Bandon after that.

Rhodes Ranch in Vegas. Perfect day for golf, course was in great shape.

No birdies, one dbl. bogey.
Parred the last 3 holes with birdie putts between 15 and 25 feet on all 3, so flirted with 79 but couldn't seal the deal.

I like that course. I'm still looking for a round next Friday and I might end up playing a twilight rate there.

I can play Friday with you if you want, but it would have to be before 11 am. I've got plans in the early evening.

Local rate is around $60.

952 am tee time, might be a tad wet but not too bad, half way decent course with wide fairways which is good since I will be rusty

40-43-83. 1 birdie, 2 double bogeys. 5/13 fairways, 8/18 greens, 35 putts.

Pretty happy for the first round of the year. Ball striking was mostly fine, pulled a couple of drives that cost me the doubles. Only one 3 putt but I missed a few short putts.

41 on a short par 34 mixed 9 (due to water 3-par 3, 5-par 4, and 1 par 5) Drove ball better than expected and hit a couple nice hybrids off the tee also. Had 6 GIR's but 3 3 putts.

Had my melt down on the front nine this time, Started with a par to.

4 Pars, 7 Bogeys, 1 Double, 6 Worse.

Really windy today and a ton of holes cross wind. All in all not awful. Misses weren't too bad, still rusty but no surprise. Pins were actually tough today, 6 or 7 were 5 paces from the edge or less, and maybe only 2 or 3 easy ones.
