42-43--85

1 birdie, 7 pars, 6 bogeys, 2 doubles, 1 triple

20+ mph winds today made the against the wind holes especially tough, including 3 of them 400+ right into the teeth of the wind. Not too often you get days that windy in FL.

Highlight was chipping on my 2nd shot of a 322y par 4 which resulted in the only birdie.

Walked 18 today. About 43 degrees out and maybe 10mph wind so the ball wasn't going all that far.
Hit the ball the best I have hit in a while. If I could have been better from 40-80 yards I could have gone really low. Was having trouble controlling my trajectory so I really had a huge lack of distance control on those half wedges.

Full swing was good though. Went with a slightly stronger right hand grip with just a touch more knee bend and really focused on picking an intermediate target and using that to square my club face with and then make sure the hip, shoulders, and feet were all square to that. Helped a ton and actually had a one way miss off the tee for a change. Also hit the pin on one hole and it came back off the green

69.8/114

36 - 34 = 70
28 putts with no 3 putts
8/14 FIR with all but 2 being within 3 yards of fairway.
11/18 GIR
3 birdies 1 bogey

Enjoy those rounds before the snow flies. Would be a good round to end the season on though.

Looks like the next 2-3 weeks will be alright if you don't mind playing when it is 40 degrees.

Played 9. Head was not in it, :'( dog died yesterday, which tanked my swing and didn't even care, was so meh. Hit only 2 good shots for the day which got me the birdies. 7 iron from 162. hit it to 2.5 feet. GW from 93 hit to 1 foot.

Had the biggest lol blow up hole, was just laughing the entire hole.

45 (39 esc)
17 putts with one 3 putt
3/7 FIR
6/9 GIR
2 birdies, 4 pars, 1 bogey, 1 double, and a lol 13

Here is the shot by shot comedy on the 13
520 yard par 5, 3 shot hole since you can't hit driver off tee.

5 wood off tee, hit like 1 foot behind the ball. It might have gone 75 yard way left in the trees.
3 hybrid pull hooked OB
stroke and distance
3 hybrid pull hooked OB almost hit a car
stroke and distance
3 hybrid topped maybe 20 yards
SW pitch out side ways.
5 wood from like 230 topped went like 40 yards or so
6 hybrid from 175ish magically hit the green.
3 putt from 30 feet

A 13 is pretty impressive. At least you played decently on the other holes...

It was way too nice today to have not played. I might have to sneak out at lunch tomorrow - if I'm near a course that's open. Definitely bringing the gear.

Condolences on your dog, that's rough.

Thank you. She was only 6 too, got attacked by a dog about 13 months ago and had 5 surgeries and pulled through. Knew it probably took several years off her life but was hoping she at least made it to 10. She wasn't feeling well and her heart just stopped while I was holding her yesterday. Couldn't even get that typed out with out tearing up again

oh man...i'm so sorry. that's a heavy load.
if golf is your escape, just do that and don't even worry about the score. it's all about the walk between shots that matters at this point.
if its not your escape, then perhaps take a break.

stay strong

Thank,
Golf is my escape, love it and you don't have to think about anything else. Even walked today which is really the best way to play I think. Can never bring myself to walk when I get a golfnow hot deal that has the cart included.

it's perfectly acceptable to completely focus on each shot and block out all the other thoughts swimming in your brain. most likely therapeutic as well.

Almost 5 hour round today, played below average, drank heavily, had fun.

Nice and 80 out, but winds at 20+mph on a tight course. This is the course that is only 6248 yards and a slope of 141.

48-48--96

1 birdie
2 pars (that's it)
8 bogeys
4 doubles
3 triples

Driving was a mess until the back nine.
Chipping was below average.
Putting was below average.

Meh. Playing Tiburon where the CME Globe was last weekend this Saturday. Even if it's as windy it's more of a wide open course so I should score much better.

It is. I ****ing (love to) hate that course. I rarely play it as most members like that course more and the other course is always wide open.

Of the 14 par 4s and 5s I think I hit driver about half the time. Really no need to pull it out of the bag all day but if I spend the $ on an M1, damn it, I'm gonna swing it.

#1 is to the right of the clubhouse (as you look at the map) with water all the way down the left of the hole.

The thing I don't miss from golfing in CA is all the courses that have houses on both sides.

My club from the blue tees is 6308-143. I love it because despite the lack of length (stretches to just over 7000 from the tips, yet it used to host today's Nationwide tour in the early 2000s), it isn't "tricked up" with blind shots, sharp doglegs, and other goofy nonsense like you'd expect given the numbers.

The fairways are relatively wide, especially since you don't need driver on a lot of tee shots from the blues, but missing the fairway is death. When the rough is up it is easily a .5-1 stroke penalty, let alone putting it in a hazard. Green complexes are solid as well. Tough to get away with missing a green, especially on the short side, though the greens are relatively flat, but quick.

It is one of those places where bogey golfers can get easily intimidated and put up some big numbers, hence the steep slope figure.

Sounds like a course that is interesting to play and requires smart shots. I hate courses that have silly forced carries and forced weird lay ups to try and make the course hard.

Played a new course today. Kept leaving myself in the wrong spots and the greens were plinko but it was overall pretty decent.

70.6/121

42 - 39 = 80
32 putts with one 3 putt
3/14 FIR
7/18 GIR
3 birdies, 5 pars, 8 bogeys, 2 doubles

was fighting the hooks all day.
