Good advice and I definitely realized afterwards that I should have done exactly this.

Been butchering par 5's as of late, can't remember the last time I had a birdie putt under 10 feet on a par 5

78 today. Think I figured it out on the last 4 holes. Went -2 last 4 hitting every fairway/green. Bogeyed two easy par gives. Which is 4 blown strokes.

Had one of those "what could have been" 9 hole rounds this morning.

The triple was a fun one. Hit 6 iron off the tee on a 330 yard par 4 behind a tree. Decide that a low 6 iron from 133 under a tree, in the rough, the ball a foot above me, through a soggy fairway, was a good idea. Went through fairway in the water, pitched short, chipped on, 2-putt triple.

how early in the round was the triple? It sounds like you were hitting the ball really well so if you were 5 or 6 holes in idk why you wouldn't hit more club off the tee if possible based on hole design. If you hit a 200 yard 6 iron then it seems to me that 3 wood or driver would put you inside 60 or 40 yards respectively.

It was the 3rd hole, 2nd is a par 3, so it was my second real tee shot of the day. For some reason I am not capable of hitting woods. The combination of not really taking the time to learn to hit them well and the fact that most courses around me I can take an iron off the tee and still have a short iron in.

Half if it is just getting the ball in play for me. If I could ever learn to hit driver look out.

Totally going to learn how to hit a fairway with my driver one day.

Played with a dude using a broom stick. Lol@ the pga tour for banning them. This dude was horribad at putting, who knows probably just an off day. But for people who understand putting its obv these putters give no advantage.

Post a vid. Consider some really hard work with swing change. There was a time i was absolutely vomit inducing with a driver, but i busted my ass for a couple of years, and im in a good place now.

76 today. 30 putts. Was 2 under after 6 and go double on an easy par 3 bogey an easy par five and 3 putt bogey finish w a 38 on front 9. 1ft birdie on 10 3fy birdie on 11 and the wheels came off. Lag from just off the green to 4 ft lip out the par putt. 3ft birdie putt next hole and miss it finish the back w 38. Ti hate the greens that I play on. The back nine is new. The greens have 10 different breaks in them. The longest putt I made today was 14 ft. I guess it is good to play on them because they will make all the other courses seem easy.

This is literally the first time I've heard a long putter called a broomstick. I had to look it up.

Golf is such a weird game....had my worst 9 of the year on the front today with a 44...par bogey on 10 11....then went 4 under on the last 7 for 76

Played 36 today. First round started out raining playing w my brother and could not make a putt. Went the whole round w a 3 ft putt being the longest putt I made. Hit driver most of the round where I normally play it safe. Lost two balls bc of it. 39 39 78.

Next round about two hrs later. W my brother and father and couldn't have started any worse. First shot chunk a driver 90 reds leaving myself 300 yards into the first green. End up bogeying. Next hole duck hook driver but par it. Bogey bogey dbl bogey bogey and I am 7 over after 7 and not feeling too good. Manage a birdie on the par 5 and par 9 for a 42. Par par bogey to start the back. Chip in for birdie on 13. Birdie 14. Birdie 15. My father tells me I won't birdie the par 3 16 but stick it 8 ft from the pin and make the putt. First time I have ever birdied 4 holes in a row. I have done 3 a couple times, once to finish a rd. bogey 17 from 150 yards in fairway and miss an 8 ft birdie putt on 18 to finish w 34 on the back for 76.

Due to heavy rain Friday 17 and 18 were closed.

Putting was awful and I messed up all of the par threes. Missed a two foot par putt on the first and twelfth and three putted the second.
The par threes were double, blob, bogey, double, blob, double.

2 pars, 9 Bogeys, 3 doubles, 2 worse.

Finally started hitting the ball middle of the back nine. Happy about that. Less happy with the 4 putt followed by 3 putt

Have a few driver ball speed numbers from now compared to 3 months ago.

3 months ago My high ball speed was 146mph with 2nd at 141 and all the rest in the 135-138 range for about 20 drives hit.

Today hit around 15 or 20.
High was 158 mph with some more at 156 154 and 153 and all but a few in the 144-148 range.

So... What's your theory on the sudden big bump in speed? And how does that relate to your carry distance? (how much distance are you gaining with these new speeds)
And how much accuracy are you sacrificing, if any?

Mostly just playing a ton. No overspeed training or anything but that will probably be my next step. My accuracy is pretty bad but it is still up by about 13% with the driver. My carry distance is about 25 yards more give or take a few. A little less with a fade and a little more with a draw. Going with the draw does bring the pull hook into play but runs out a mile on dry fairways when I hit it well.

Played a scramble today. I hate playing scrambles. Messed up my swing even though it isn't hard to mess up. I am putting a lot better.

So did it take 58 or something absurd to win anything?

Yes. We shot 58 and won. 4 folding chairs was the top prize I think, or maybe that is just what he chose.

40-41-81 (par 74). 1 birdie, 1 double.

Played the same nine twice. For most of the first nine I was puring it. Didn't hit it quite as consistently on the second nine but still decent.

78 (36 - 43) - hit a par 3 to 18 inches and lipped out an eagle putt on the front nine.
Followed it up with an 86 from the next tees back in the afternoon
