I'm pretty bad, just started making progress recently (from 36 down to 26.5). I am playing with a friend, his dad and uncle (25.2, 7.1 and 10.2 HCP). We are paired up against a 9.1, 5.1, 24.5 and 8.0.
Its for laughs, obviously, a small entry fee and at my local club, so im not too worried about it, but i wanted to ask you people if theres anything i should keep in mind while playing. My golf etiquette is OK, but if theres anything that beginners tend to forget that you can think of please lmk.
Wish me luck!
When we do Texas Scrambles at my workplace, there's a rule that you may play your shot from within one club length of the where the ball you've decided to play has come to rest (no closer to the hole, though). Liberal use of this rule can really help out with stance issues, bad lies, or even getting slightly better angles into the green. This doesn't apply to putts, obviously. (check to make sure this is a real rule before going crazy out there)
Good luck. More importantly have fun. Scrambles are great when you have one reliable player who can be counted on to put the ball in the fairway. Have that player go first, then everyone else can just rip at the ball like maniacs.
