That putting lesson really helped but I guess that's my fault for not going out and practising.

The South Buckinghamshire. New course to me. Sorted my set up out and hit the ball much better still couldn't score.
5 Pars, 1 Bogey, 7 Doubles, 5 Worse.
Still can't putt. Took the driver out twice and lost two balls. Finished by lipping out a birdie putt. It was a glorious day though, not a cloud in the sky. Makes me feel sad for all of you who were at work.

No score yesterday, was about +5 for 6 holes after I missed every four footer. Swing felt awful and the contact was not solid. The highlight was hitting some chip shots before the round while waiting for the league to finish and sinking 2 of the first 4 (from about 30').

Had the unusual experience of a guy playing through (I was solo with a cart). Guy said he'd had a hole in one and wanted to get in an entire 18. He was running. Dunno if he made it before dark.

shot a 92 on a shorter tight and small tricky green course. tons of bogeys. a very nice 200+ yard plus shot over water on a par 5

driving was really good. never flirted with a lost ball the entire round

BUT all irons esp. wedges were abysmal. too fast and flat swing. gotta work on it. wondering if my regular shafts are killing me (same problems with 52 thru 60 wedge). i think 60 degree is coming out of bag and maybe 3 iron back in?... fyi, my wedge misses were very low. semi-skulls, some contact with leading edge

putting was decent

47-42-89 away game at a ~6300 yard 71.6/134.

Rained on the first nine, windy as heck on the back. Links style course, wide open.

Could not read the greens or judge speed at all, probably had 45 putts.

shot a 47 on the front and a 44 on the back = 91. Greens were incredibly slow and got caught in the rain on the last couple holes. I lost a few strokes due to terrible shots with my sand wedge.

+7 for 9 at my local course for a total of 43 which tied my best round on the course this year. 2 birdies. Not great, bit I recently picked golf back up and game is getting a lot better this year. Playing a lot. Driving the ball 300+ consistently and hitting a lot of fairways.... And some short par 4 greens!

First round of golf in a year and was hungover .. Also forgot my driver so played my hybrid of the tee.

Tee to Green was Brilliant. Best ball striking bar one have done. 4 putt so much.. Just a mess on or around the greens. To be expected having not played in so long .

Also my second most enjoyable round in my life despite the scoring which didnt do my ball striking any justice.

went 9 after school friday.

first 6 holes: every fw hit, every green hit, 2 putts on every hole, 6 pars.

so basically, i'm playing out of my mind.

then it started raining, and lightning.

finished bogey/double/double with not a fw or green hit to finish with 40

mehhh.

GIR is definitely going up which is really encouraging. the fw's should be much higher but i bought an r11 which i promptly turned 3 degrees in, but while it goes 20 yards further, i spray the **** out of it. meanwhile, my old trusty king cobra offset (prob 5 years old) still goes 270 straight down the middle. still keep both in the bag (leaving out a 60 degree i never use) but last few rounds haven't even bothered with the r11.

only paid $200 + tax for the r11 with a $60 shaft because i thought i had cured my slice. spent a lot of time at the range this summer with the offset and was hitting it straighter than i ever have. even the mis-hit slices were more fades than 'omg watch this straight right'.

resigned myself to the fact that i'll just have to hit an offset the rest of my life and i'll sell the r11 the first chance i get and just buy the newest version (those have to be coming soon right? the '13s?) of the KC offset.

putting is dramatically skewed by two rounds where the greens were stupidly fast. i generally putt well, speed especially. still read 20-25 footers wrong sometimes but the speed is usually right.

scoring average i feel like it also skewed as the course i've played the most is also the hardest. 87 i feel like is my average there. then boulder creek and yankee run with the greens as fast as they could possibly be and after those my average is probably 82-83ish.

first time i've ever tracked stats. started in august. first time i get to bitch about my handicap being based on my best rounds rather than a rolling average. it's totally within my game to go in the 30's, and i do occasionally just not all the time. i'm also capable of shooting 45/46 which apparently isn't taken into account on handicap.

anyway, driving range 10 minutes from here is semi-enclosed w/lights and heaters, so i'll be trying to hit at least once a week in the cold months and next summer that handicap will be in the single digits. this summer for whatever reason was the summer i caught the golf bug bad. most i've golfed in my life and it's not close.

fall goals: golf as long as it stays above 50.

winter goals: new woods, irons and probably wedges (still using 7ish year old nike crx irons). hit 100+ balls at least weekly.

40-40-80.

Started the back by hitting it to 2 feet on 10, birdie. Six inches on 11, birdie. Misjudged where the flag was on 12 or I would have had three in a row. Doubled 13 after the wind came up. Birdie on 14.

Played 36 holes again. Completely opposite results from last time. 36(!!) on the first 9 in the morning, finished with an 81. Back 9 wasn't too bad for the most part, but somehow forgot how to putt and had like 4 3-putts. Front 9 was 2 birdies and 2 bogeys. Dropped a 70 foot putt for bird on one hole. Back was 7 bogeys, one par and one double.

Second 18 was a brutal 96. Opened triple-triple-triple after my stupid snap hook reared its ugly head. Just sort of fought my swing rest of day and swore a lot

Played 10 holes the other day and hit 0 greens after shooting 1 under the round before.

Didn't help that the wind was gusting like crazy and swirling a lot. Also, hard to focus in a non-tourney round. Fortunately 10 is right next to the range, so it was a good time to stop!

47-39 = 86.

Played like freshly ground ass hair for the first 7 holes (+10 through 7), then started to really play. Two silly three putts on the back kept it from being even more amazing, but I'll take my first sub-40 nine since I started back up.

37 (par 35). Just barely missed a 20' eagle putt. Pretty happy with 2 birdies tho.

90 on par 70, rage growing

didn't keep track today. last time perfect drives, god awful irons.. today, generally very poor drives ( actually a few of my best drives ever but tons and tons of ob and lost balls). but my irons and pitching were immaculate. some putting problems

cliff notes: last week perfect driving, awful irons. today the exact opposite.

Yesterday, I was +5 after 15 holes and screwed up with 3 doubles back to back for an 82 (par 71)

im pretty much aware what the problems are, its just that when i focus on one issue another one crops up, rinse, repeat

i am steadily improving even though my scores aren't, and that's why i'm on tilt, if that makes sense.

Strangest round ever. 1 birdie, 5 pars, 2 GIR which were both three-putt bogeys. Didn't make a putt over 4 feet all day.
