Just got new irons....First trip out was HORRENDOUS....stopped keepig score after about 5 holes....best guess puts my score @ 125. Back to the range....

Played a couple rounds while down. Shot my best index in 10 months followed by my worst in 10 months on the same course just 2 days later. lol. A 94 with a few penalties followed by 111 with 1 penalty. lol ballstriking. Honestly though it seemed like all my bad shots on the 94 I was left with shots while all my bad shots on the 111 seemed to settle under bushes and ****. Huge swing in luck during both rounds.

The 94 was a fun round. A single caught up to me on #5 and we walked the rest together. It started pouring on us on 16 and 17 and everyone else left the course and we were like "let's finish". It was Open Championship weather and both of us were shooting low so we wanted to play out. He shot 78 for his third time breaking 80 and I had my best round in 10 months. Somehow I played very well with the rain pouring down on me. I sunk a 12-15 foot putt from the fringe for birdie on 16 green. I could have broken 90 for first time though as I had 2 penalty strokes by driving a short lake with 5i then 6i when I used to hit 2i-4i here and be safe. Also 4-putted from like 25 feet on a par 3 GIR. 2nd putt was from 3 feet above hole on severe downhill that I just hit too hard and it burned the edge and rolled like 8 feet past. Missed the comebacker. Ugggg.

I also drove about 295 on a 291 par 4 (lol) to the right fringe that was about 2 feet from falling in the bunker. Chipped to maybe 10 feet and left my birdie putt like 2 feet short when all I kept telling myself was "don't leave this short". lulz. It was tracking too. My partner had driven the green earlier and made his eagle putt from 10 feet.

40 (par 37). Unusually good, only one double.

Had a TaylorMade Rocketballz 5 iron show up today so I put it in play, not a bad club.

I played 9 holes today. Played about bogey golf give or take. What did I learn? I wasn't choking down on chip shots. Its like trying to write your name with a pencil near the eraser versus at the bottom. Chipping is so easy when you keep your body still, stare at the ball, and choke down.

I also started hitting my 52 degree about 90-100 yards now which I accomplished through sevam1's video about digging your heels in video. Just go to youtube and type in "sevam1 the move". There are two parts but you will want to watch all of his videos. TRUST ME.

Played a course I hadn't played before (Riverlands in LaPlace, LA). Pretty pleased with my score for playing a new course.

One par-4 had repair work going on and was playing as a par-3 with tees 150 yards out in the fairway. I made a mess of it (a 7), so I figured I should just pretend it never happened and give myself par plus a handicap stroke for a 5. So if you want to be a nit about it, I didn't really break 100.

I hadn't played in two weeks and as I warmed up before the round I was slicing my irons horrifically. (Couldn't hit driver because the far end of the range was under construction.) Get out on the first tee, try to anticipate a fade, hit it straight into the trees on the left. Did that once or twice more, then quit fighting it. Had a nice streak of five fairways hit in a row during the middle of the round where I was hitting them pretty close to dead straight. A few were a little too high, but lots of them were great. Didn't track my distances since I was in a cart, but I think I had one duck hook that went about 190; one slice I tried to fade around the trees on a dogleg right but knocked into the trees; and a few that went a little too high; but I hit a bunch that were probably in the 240-250 range. Probably one of my best driving distance days. Also a new best for GIR (except for one round at a really short course); it helped that I had about 200 into all the par-5s and a bunch of wedges into the par-4s. Pitching/chipping was kinda bad, but putting was pretty good. Greens were fast. The one birdie I had was a short par-4. Hit a good drive about 230 in the fairway leaving me 90 yards, but a big tree overhanging down the right was going to get in my way if I didn't get the trajectory just right. So I punched a 5-iron and ran it up just past pin-high and made an 11-footer.

Playing a ton as usual really need to start playing poker but loving golf too much. Loving the experience of playing with good players learning so much as I watch.

Played a Pro Am last week this was my first, Turned up at the range and I see Paul Mcginley just ripping it on the range. He was getting coached by John Jacobs (I think it's him), Both are very nice guys said hello and spoke to my group for about 20mins which was fun.

Anyway we shot a 128 and came tied 1st but come 2nd due to count back won a taylor made rescue which is pretty nice.

Also played another tournament and won it 3 in a row even though the 2nd was only 5 people due to the weather. As said I'm really liking golf at the moment something has really clicked in my swing. Last month I was a 28 handicap :O now I'm a 18 probs playing to a 10 pretty sick, and I hope it stays.

Playing a tournament tomorrow so hopefully that goes well. Also going to try and go to wentworth for the BMW championship to watch a few players on the last day. Lastly going to go to a cleveland fitting centre so I can finally get fit for some clubs.

49-50-99 today. Started good hitting 2 par 4 GIR but 3-putt bogeyed both holes and I think that affected my game a bit. I'm the worst putter of all time and at this point I may start putting 1 handed because it can't possibly get worse.

2 penalties. 1 was a big drive I hit with a strong fade that kicked over into an unplayable lie area (dirt tracks for maintenance crew). Another 5I approach that I blocked over near an aquaduct that kicked down the 60 degree hill into it.

Nothing worse than triple but with my putting it was just impossible to make par today. So many bogeys and doubles and I think 3 triples.

Overall driving was better as I am working on keeping my weight more on my toes than heel. Approach shots were mostly goodish. Though I seem to hit my 6/7/8/9 irons above the hole and my wedges below the hole. I'm starting to notice that pattern. Could be I'm not accounting for the de-loft of the irons as compared to the wedges. Meaning the decreased likelihood that the green holds my shot. It's frustrating though. But the striking is getting pretty good. Still straight-pulling a little though.

My 'cap is on its way up and is almost back North of 30. A 20 index just came off my ledger and was replaced with a 32. A 21 is coming off in the next 2 rounds also. Will wait for that to come off the board before updating my 2p2 HC.

39 (par 35). Just walked nine by myself, no pressure. One bogey caused by driving through a dogleg into the trees, a double caused by being in the world's most annoying sand, one bogey where I just missed a six footer trying to get up and down. Good times.

Shot an 83 this morning 42-41 on a par 72. Two GIR. Tons of 1 putts.

Hitting tee shot really well, struggling to find consistency with my irons but the short game is really coming around.

well played the tournament shot to handicap shot 82. Played really bad though shots into the green where terrible off the tee was straight but short. Think I just lacked so much energy today and considering the round took 4 and 1/2 hours it was just dragging.

My 99 the other day I lost 10.7 strokes putting to a pro. :SLJFLKJFLKFKLD

last round was 93 on tough layout. 43 on tough front nine, 50 on much easier back. my swing completely came apart. 43 should hane been much better. two triples with good drives. stupid side hill lies (1 not easily avoidable)

42 (par 35). Drove the ball well, irons were iffy, putting was lolbad. Consistency, how does it work.

Wish I could do this every night. Go out about 7, walk at my own pace, 65 degrees and no humidity, finish before dark.

Played 36 holes today was not happy with my first 18 so I went round again. First 18 I shot 46 :O and 41 total 87 then I go and shoot a 38 and a 36 total 74 par 68...not making great contact with the ball

46-55-101 (par 70)

First time out this year and maybe 4th round in last 5 years. I hit quite a few good shots. Something like 5500 yards so that helped, but I am a terrible horrible awful putter. Probably 45-50 putts. Reached in 2 on a 516 yarder (3 putt of course) with driver-5I which I'm pretty sure is the longest hole I've ever done that on.

43 on the back. got a bit sloppy. putting was just pathetic. don't think i've ever drove the ball that well tho. multiple 300 yard bombs. iron play was meh. couldn't score from 100 yards and in like i usually can.

Started off bogey-bogey-par-bogey, then had a quad and a triple. Driver was solid in the middle of the round, but I was mostly missing right (and missing farther and farther right as the round went on). Distance was good though. Everything else was pretty average. 29 putts sounds nice but I probably had a handful more from the fringe.

I'm starting to feel like 90 is very much within my reach. I've had quite a few nine-hole spells of 44-45, just need to put two of them together back-to-back.

You're right there. Play the same round today but run hot with 0 penalty strokes and you're right at 90. You're getting some good distance on your driver, too.

No score. Played nine but it was slow as **** and I couldn't concentrate. Putting was horrid and I'm still struggling with the irons.

Managed 3-4 practice rounds to open the year where I didnt really track except for 1 and it was first outing at a tough course Ive never played and managed a gentlemans 111... which was mehhh

BUT

Officially started my private 10 person golf league and after wrapping up an awful back 9 on a practice round last Saturday I scratched together a 100 on Sunday, followed by playing the same course today and putting together another 100 on the button.

The good news is Ive compared these scores to last year at beginning of year and I shot a 106, 107 and *gasp* 117 to open up last year on this course so to come out and open up like this is quite exciting as I feel like its going to lead to big things this year. I ended on this course last with a 99, 96 and 90 so if that trend continues that is a 15 stroke improvement from beginning to end of year which means I have a great shot at breaking into the 80s this year.
