Meh, 41 on a fairly tough course. Found out I was aiming way to the right on every shot. Finally fixed that on hole 5 and played the last 5 at +1.

I want to get out and play 18 tomorrow, I haven't decided where though.

I am SO solid: 46-36 = 82. I could putt on the back nine, which was nice, and didn't have any penalty strokes. Was actually -1 on the back going in to 18, and managed to hook my hybrid, which I never do, into the opposing fairway, forcing me to chip BACKWARDS onto my own.

Wow. I shot nine with my dad today and he pointed out that I had changed the way I approach my putts, which I didn't even realize. I went back to the old way and it was all better!

I shot 38 this afternoon.

96 Sunday on a devilish new course that is still growing in. Best round there by 3 strokes. Hard course, my Hcap is unofficially 21 right now.

Beats: Two 9s on a par 5 and par 4, the last one I play safe with 3 wood, chunk it, then flub two more 3 woods before shanking my wedge short of the bunker, then I jump into the trap for a few strokes before climbing over the 12 foot high bunker face with my 3rd wedge shot. What a mess.

Brags: Birdie four on a hole so hard the course designer (who played in the group behind us) is considering a T-shirt club for folks who birdie it. It's about 530 yards, with wetlands between 270 and 380 yards out blocking 75% of the landing area. I hit a 260 yard drive right in the slot for max distance, jam the 3 wood low over the wetlands, stick an 8 Iron to 32 feet, then almost offer to buy whiskey bottles for my playing partners if I can the birdie putt... good check on the green, huh? Wahoo! Also hit a sick 3 wood 275 yards into the fairway, pretty sweet and my best 3 ever, my best drive is like 305. Second time through on the long Par 5 my buddy hits the flagstick and makes his par putt, and I stick a 5 wood to 9 feet. Great fun.

My new 4 wood just arrived and I didn't have a chance to hit any balls with it before the round, so I hit it off of every par 4/par 5 on the front nine except for one, with decidedly mixed results. I also shanked two balls OB on the front. Drove the ball fantastic on the back, was even through the first seven holes after hitting 2 20 footers (for par and birdie) and maybe the best par save of my life on 16 (had to hit a flop shot from a downhill lie over a bunker and stop the ball right away). Saved double bogey on 17 after some shenanigans and finished with a tap-in birdie on the par 5 18th. I have to break 80 soon. Right? Right?

played the back tees on a calm day. my short game was awful and i should have shot about 66. 2 3 putt pars, missed another 3 foot birdie putt, and 3 putted a couple more times, missed more 3 footers blah blah meow chow.

damnit. on a lighter note, our GM shot 63 today and a member shot 64.

Driving 30+ minutes in beautiful weather only to have rain start pelting my windshield as I turn into the golf course.

missed 2 long birdie putts and 3 par putts, only had 1 par, and a nice bogey on a par 5, when I had to take a drop for putting it into the woods...

Hit my friends Hybrid for bug chunk of the day and it pretty much guarantees I will be purchasing one immediately...didnt hit a 3-5 iron all day as the Hybrid was hitting beautifully and more so comfortably...

....best feeling round of the year, putting fell apart a little or woulda been under 100 for 1st time in a long time

Playing much better. Putting a disaster, but hitting lots of fairways. Midiron game still disturbingly and uncharacteristically inconsistent.

50-47-97. Short approach shots were awful.

41-46=87 on East Potomac Blue, another sh*tty muni in DC. They absolutely destroyed their greens by using the wrong chemical application to treat them, so I'm actually happy taking "only" 35 putts, as it was impossible to get a true roll and the greens varied greatly from hole to hole. The only disappointment on today's round, a personal best, is that I had four doubles on the last five holes, including my only two three-putts of the day on 16 and 17. I'm also getting even less distance off the tee than I usually do.

What a surprise shot another 117. Oh well.. what can I expect when I reach a 500 yard green in 2 after a 300 yd monster drive followed by a perfect 3 iron only to 5 putt for a double bogey 7?

55 + 52 = 107. My short game's back, however somehow I lost my iron game.

81 yesterday, 79 today. Scraped it around, managed to make only one double bogey for the weekend. Only had one birdie, though.

Shot even par for 18 holes for the first time this morning.

18 is a par-5 and I was left with about 135 from the middle of the fairway. Hard 9 or easy 8. Hmmmm. How about easy 8 fatted about 90 yards. Finished with bogey for an even par 71. .

I was two under par through five holes, bogeyed six, then eleven consecutive pars until I choked.

86 today with 2 birdies and an Eagle on a 450 yrd par 5...

I keep getting a blister on my right hand (I am right handed) after a round. I've only played 4 rounds this summer (and maybe 10 ever) and the last 3 times I've gotten a blister on my right middle finger. Any advice?

Also, I got my second birdie ever today!
