88. Horrible. You know it's going to be a long day when you four-putt the first hole from 15 feet. Had no idea where the ball was going on any shot. Managed to par 15 through 18 to break 90 at least.

52 after 9 holes. it was my 2nd time out this year and probably the 10th time ever. i started off the first 2 holes with an 8 and a 10 but picked it up after that.

71 yesterday from the tips. 92 today from blues (1 up). WTF. I am a mental midget. Played with 2 guys who swung out of their shoes and couldn't even come close to finding my tempo. Too much variance for golf.

had my best round ever today. 42-43. The worst part was I was at 31 after 7, and completely botched the 8th hole for an 8. Still, I don't think I've ever broken 90 before today.

I shot a 99 today...by far the worst round in 2 years...although it was 96 degrees with 100% humidity...it was a killer!

i shot a 90 yesterday (45-45). fairly short course with a bunch of short par4s. and one par5 was 455. so overall a very short course but im very happy with my score.

Shot 69, Par 71, slope 119 from the blues. Easily easily could've been -6 if some puts didn't burn the lip.

Best round of the last 12 months...had 4 drives >330yrds (no joke).

Edit: FWIW, this isn't my lowest round, just my most consistent.

82. Much better than yesterday, I actually felt like I knew what I was doing.

worst round ever of 100+ yesterday. Chipped and putted better than ever, was better off kicking the ball to the green after every tee shot. Swing completely fell apart, couldn't hit a decent iron shot the whole round. Wasn't there mentally I guess. Got a trip to Pinehurst next weekend so it better be a passing thing.

sad thing is my irons were the only shots I had down in the beginning of the yr.

Wednesday: 88 at Rock Creek, this horrible little par-65 muni in DC that could be half decent if anyone up there cared. The greens are in terrible shape because they messed up the chemical application. There are three temporary greens. I hit the ball okay, but putting was impossible. The only thing good about the round is that because of the greens, greens fees were half price, so we went around for $13.50.

Friday: 92 at Falls Road in Potomac, Maryland, a nice, easyish Par 70 that is fairly wide open and well manicured. I hit the ball extremely well throughout most of the round; I had three birdie putts on the first five holes, which pretty much never happens to me. I only made one of them, though.

My round could have been really great, if not for the three eights I took. Two were course management problems; I hooked my drive into the woods and tried to punch out instead of taking an unplayable on one hole; and on 18 I hit driver (I never hit driver) just because it was 18 and lost my ball left again. The third 8 was frustrating; I hit a good drive but chunked my approach into the rough, which was far thicker than the rough on any other hole on the course.

I also missed like three putts under five feet, including a four-footer for birdie after knocking an eight-iron stiff on a par three.

Saturday: 104 at Virginia Oaks, a P.B. Dye-designed course in Gainesville. We played the gold tees, the second longest on the course at 6,400 yards, which is long for me (like I said, I hit three-metal off the tee and I'm not very long, so even when I am striking the ball well I am never more than about 220 yards off the tee. And I wasn't hitting it well on Saturday). Very tough round all around for me, but I managed to make three putts between 10 and 15 feet (including one for bogey on 18 that won our skins game), and made all my putts from five feet and in. Had a great up and and down from someone's backyard over the 12th green; I am terrible with a sand wedge and I had no green to work with, so I had to land a pitching wedge on top of a mound and let it bounce through the rough and onto the green. It turned out better than I expected; the ball barely made it through the rough and then trickled to about three feet for a kick-in par. Very few highlights, though.

This life tilts me when people talk about their rounds like this. "I'd have been 6 better if I didn't pump 3 OB, and 4 more better if I knew how to get up and down, and 2 better on top of that if I would have been sharper with my middle range wedges."

It's not like anyone ever plays a round where they couldn't have picked up shots somewhere. Having said that, I was 67 today, made some bad mental mistakes that led to making 3 bogies, so there's 64, and a couple putts I was pretty close on so that's 62, and really there were a few full shots I could have been sharper on so really wasn't far off a 59 today, so that's exciting for me.

Hell, I coulda shot a 70 if I didn't suck.

First time out this year and it was horrendous. 55-49 for a 104. At least my score was moving in the right direction from the front to back 9.

I only say that because I'm an excellent putter and had 12 birdie putts from <12' and only made 3 (the 4th was a 1' bird putt)...and 7 of the 8 misses were lip-outs...so it's VERY different from saying something like "had I not hit those 2 ob, I'd be 4 strokes better"...

Played 36 today. Shot 72 in the morning and came in with a lovely 91 in the afternoon. 19 shots worse, apparently the 19th hole can be literal.

I shot 90 yesterday and it included 10 three putts and a four putt. I can't putt anymore. I don't know what happened to the putter because I opened the year with two rounds of less than 32 putts on the same course I played yesterday.

This is the most frustrated I've ever been in regards to golf. 40 plus putts is misery. 48 putts is criminal.

Had a good weekend. Visited relatives on Cape Cod
Shot 80 at Dennis Highlands and followed with an 82 at The Captains - Port Course

Couldn't put it all together though, both rounds easily could have been sub-80.
First round was crushing the drives and putting well, but short irons were lacking.
Second round had lights out irons and good putting, but driver left me...

yesterday I shot 92 after starting birdie birdie...maybe the fact that I had never done that psyched me out and made me screw up...who knows

drove a 320 yard hole today and made a 30 footer for eagle.

Just had back-to-back -3 rounds. Yesterday had a string of 2 birdies and a lip-out for a third (from 9'), and then a string of 3 on the back...pretty solid round...I'm down to a 0 index now.

i'm not sure why i read this thread. i was hoping more ppl sucked as bad as i do i guess.

i haven't played yet this year because i have no time w/ the kid running around. but i don't think i've broken 100 before.

but i do have a hole-in-one, lolol

^ I know what you mean. It's a bit discouraging reading all these low handicapper's scores, while I'm here struggling to break 100 each time.
