I shot a 35-34--69 at Royal St. Cloud in Florida, I hit 17 greens and 11/14 fairways. I missed a 10 foot eagle and then missed the 4 foot birdie on the way back. Other than that, was a real solid round.

Only one trip to the range since my last round in mid Sept, so the swing is horribly rusty even for an 18 hcp.

1/7: Bandon Dunes shot 105. temp in mid 50s, little wind, light rain for holes 4-12 and the fog started to blow in at the end
1/8: Pacific Dunes shot 94. again in mid 50s but much heavier rain for middle third of round then wind picked up to 20 mph or so for last 5-6 holes.
1/9: Bandon Trails shot 107. Light sprinkles at the start of the round but they went away, and the sun almost broke out near the end of the round...Temps in low 60s. Most def the most linkslike course with super-tight lies. Prob should have used a putter or hybrid around the greens much more than I did. Greens were 3x faster than either of the Dunes courses the previous days and it took a while to adjust as well.

Got a good look at Old Macdonald from the back 9 at Pacific. (old Mac opens in June). Rumor has it that it will have more total acerage of greens than any course in the world. One is so big that it has a sprinkler in the middle.

Heard story that Grant Rogers (bandon head pro) played Old Mac with only a putter and shot in mid 70s....he is rumored to be able to hit a putter 200+ yds.

Bandon Dunes is a dream course for me to play, i need to play there before I die. Oregon is amazing

Honestly, I liked Pacific better.

Pacific>Bandon>Trails, IMO.

If you want to take a chance w/weather variance this time of year, the rates were superb. $75/round + $75/night each for a Chrome Lake cabin sharing with a friend. Of course there's nothing wrong with playing a links course in the fog/rain/wind/etc. The biggest risk with winter golf is a frost delay in the morning. The southern Oregon coast is usually pretty mild in the winter temp wise.

nice weather today so walked on and played 9 - ended up shooting 42, doubling 10 and 18, but made par on a hole that always gives me fits so that was the highlight of the day for me.... walking in the middle of january after not playing for 6 weeks and being out of shape is a pretty good excuse to call out of work tomorrow and play again imo

Beat, lost two balls on the very first hole as it was my first round of golf in 3 months and I forgot how to swing

Variance, Parred the last 8 holes on the bounce to half the money with my dad who plays off 15 and i was giving 10 shots too over the 18 holes

After a couple of weeks off I managed to get in 18. There were temporary greens on 1,4,8,15,17, and we were playing team match play so didn’t record a score.
I hit the ball Ok despite feeling tired and unsure of what I was doing. Got through the front nine no problem but then started to struggle off the tee, I had 3 sliced drives and two fairway woods that I pushed about fifty yards along the floor and to the right, on the back nine. Apart from that I hit everything ok.

Sigh shot like a 58 today (par 36), miss-hit twice on a very easy 150 yard par 3 and the greens were very slow, I didn't adjust well . I did manage my first birdie on a par four though.

I suck ass at golf. I shot an 89. Every single time I go play golf it ends up being 45 and 30 mph wind, no matter the forecast. So hard to play golf once every few weeks, in terrible conditions, without practicing.

68 @ club west in phoenix. definite brag, my best round in a while. had the pull hooks with the driver and missed a few borderline gimmes . only one full shot missed hitting the green and it was a fake yardage.

Weeee shot a 44 today, reading 'How I Play Golf' and practicing 2 hours a day has helped my short game immensely. Also am able to get on the fairway consistently, no more hellacious slice!

29 stablford points was enough to win but it could have been so much better.
New course to me started very well six tight tree lined holes with no room for error and an isolated feeling then we went across the road and were in essentially a hilly field with some saplings the last two were back in the trees and playing over a large pond.
My game was very strange I was hitting it really well on the range and the tee shot was good but then I pulled it hard left into the trees and that was realistically the end of my chances for points on that hole.
Between holes 4 and 12 I hit full shots just about as well as I can. All fairways hit no balls lost but my chipping was bad and my pitching worse. Something very strange happened with my putting my long putting was very good I had four twenty plus footers that I left with in a foot and the rest with in five feet but my short putting was horrible I missed from in side four feet on at least five occasions.
By the 13th the drizzle and cold made me start to hurry my preshot routine and my long game started to get progressively worse I ended the round losing three balls on the last two holes and scoring no points.

I shot 90 for 37 points
I'm really happy with how I scored especially as I was feeling very uncomfortable over the ball and was aware that I had to use my arms to get the club in to position on the back swing.
The two big plusses are that I had no hole worse then a double bogie and took no more then two putts on any hole in-fact I took two putts on 17 holes for 35 putts total.
I have set my self the goal of having 10 rounds in the 80s for the year I now think that might be too optimistic I felt sure id be there today.
