Redefining "inside leather"

40-46-86. 10 pars (all my GIR), 5 bogeys, 3 triples. Lots of issues off the tee, had to punch out/forward 3 times, take one unplayable, and yanked another OB left. Was striking out to the toe often. My iron play was historically great, though. My median/average birdie putt length was ~18-21', and I hit 7 approaches pin high.

If a few putts (35 total, no 3-putts) dropped & I was slightly more solid off the tee, this could have been a low 80s or even in the 70s round.

Also, didn't lose a ball, which is a big plus since I was playing personalized Tour Preferred X that cost like 50$ a dozen.

I say we teemed up pretty damn well. I had 4 or 5 doubles or triples and 2 birdies.

We shot 31 net on the front with 4 net birdies and 1 non-net birdie. I drove the 5th hole which was only playing about 260y today.

Back 9 net of 34. Not bad considering we had 3 net bogeys to count. So 3 net bogeys, 1 net par, 4 net birdies and 1 net/gross birdie.

41-45 - 86. Traditional end-of-season tourney with beers and something to keep warm. Was 40F so did need it. After last awful round this went better, 8 pars but a couple of bigger numbers. That´s it for the season, gotta start planning a trip to somewhere sunny ugh.

40-49-89. Front 9 was excellent and could have been better; two 3-putts, one of which was inexcusable. Was -1 on Par 4s on the front, not sure I've ever shot even on 4s on a 9

Day 1 of the member/guest. Rules are 1 point for a hole win, 1/2 for a halve, 0 for a loss.

Match 1 - 4.5 to 4.5 draw. We hit the ball all over the park and somehow came up with a draw. Still not sure how.

Match 2 - 5.5 to 3.5 loss. I it the ball pretty well going +1 over the last 6 holes. One of our opponents made 3 birdies (gross, no shots). He also missed a downhill slider from just a touch over 2 feet, ended up 3-putting for bogey to give us the hole.

Match 3 - 6-3 win. Opponents had a scratch player and he played pretty badly, alcohol can do that. We had some pars (net birdie) and bogeys (net par) that earned us some points.

I didn't have my swing all day long. Found my go do stab, deep divot slice quite a bit today. Hitting range tomorrow to see what happens.

Also went and bought a 915 2h after play and it will be in the bag tomorrow.

We should be within a couple of points of first with 2 matches to go.

38-46-84. No birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Ballstriking continues to be inconsistent and borderline terrible. Chipping was better than usual. Putter was decent on the front, missed everything on the back.

Gl and hope you face more intoxicated opponents =) Hmm interesting that you would be so close to leaders with close to break-even record, if I understood that correctly. I bought a 915 3h last winter online. Went to range with it in spring, could not hit it one bit. Was starting to wonder if there was some problem with the club. Well not really cuz thought it was just me, but started to get silly. Asked a buddy to hit it, he flushed it first time. I tried it a couple of times more but just embarrassed myself. Threw it to the closet, now hit it a couple of times and I like it a lot.

Not a great fan of the 915. Just bought it to stop gap between now and when I pick up an 816.

So we were 2.5 points out of first heading into today. Our first match our opponents shot even par gross and they trounced us 6-3. I don't think I flushed a single iron shot in the match.

2nd match we started with me hitting a good tee shot and hitting an approach to a foot for a gimme birdie. Partner hit it to 3 feet as well. I hit the ball much better the second match. Ended up halving it 4.5-4.5. I believe 4 of the 9 were won with birdie.

I think we will finish 3rd in our flight out of 6.

1st time hitting a ball in several weeks. No warm up. Not even a practice putt. Was a lot of fun to get out. I miss summer.

47-42 - 89. Somehow still went to play, 40F and windy, two beanies for head-gear. Two birdies but also an 8 on par-4 and 11 on par-5 with two OOB hah.

I'm gonna miss everyone posting scores. Sometimes I forget that golf season is almost over up north.

36-40-76. 1 birdie, 1 double bogey.

Best round in a while and it very easily could have been better. The double was just stupid. Had a birdie horseshoe out of the cup. Missed a 3 footer. But no complaints - didn't hit the ball great but well enough and was able to get enough out of the driver.

91... 43, 48

We started off on the back. I made the turn and proceeded to go triple, double, triple on the first 3 holes. Teed off with a women's ball and made par on the next 3 holes.

Guys ever play on a course where they were taking out mad trees and woods on every hole? I like the track and have played it numerous times but man talk about memorized sight lines being ****ed up. Felt like a different course.

I wish they would take trees out of my course. Might actually be easy then

43-41-84

5 pars, 3 doubles, 1 bogey on the front

6 bogeys, 1 birdie, 2 pars on the back

Felt like I played a lot better than that. Made a few longish putts on the back to save bogey.

38-40-78. 2 birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Driver pretty consistent, irons not so much. Chipping and putting both solid. Gorgeous fall day, mid 60s, light breeze, leaves turning.

40-43-83

10 pars, 3 doubles, 5 bogeys

Actually not as bad as I would have thought with the new swing. I have not introduced the swing into the irons as of yet though. Lag putting was bad, 2 3-putts and made another 3 comebackers of the 5-10 foot range to not 3-putt.

~ 37 (par 35). 2 birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Apparently my putting is so bad that I putt better when the greens have been punched. Only thing that sucked tonight was pitching.

49-46-95. 23hcap

1 birdie, 2 pars. 37 putts - 2-putted the first 12 holes then went 3,1,1,3,2,3. All of those two-putts were tap ins, so pretty happy with my weight judgement.

Put a bunch of balls in bad spots, but holy hell - my swing was the best it's been in about two months. I just felt so free! Last week I shot +40 (that's not a typo) and today went out there just not giving a fk, reminded myself that it's only a game. Never tried to hit the cover off it, just nice and easy - and it felt so good!
If I can swing like that more often I'll be shooting sub-90 in no time

41-43-84. 9 FIR, 8 GIR, 35 putts, 1 birdie.

Extremely happy with my play today. Despite 4 separate blowups/penalties, I still managed to score quite well for myself. Was just sort of patting my driver out to 230-250 in play & straight every time and going from there. Definitely a mindset I want to keep for next round

40-40-80 - 1 birdie, 2 doubles, 5 bogeys, 10 pars

Played Orange County National (Crooked Cat) near Orlando. Played the 2nd furthest back tees of 6927y. Course really didn't seem to play that long. The holes against the wind of 20-25mph were a bitch though. Shortest par 3 was 180. I basically had to lay up on a 210y par 3 dead into the wind.

The course is basically open and you can let it fly. There are a number of trees but they are a ways out. Only 2 holes with water. Greens are massive, about 4x the size I'm used to. I did hit one par 5 in 2 but had a 100 ft putt. 3 putts later I had a par.

I could easily play here forever.

Also this is site of Web.Com Q school finals in a few weeks. Tips play 7,400+.

Aaaaaand followed up with a dismal 106 today, first time at this course. I suck. 3 pars, wiped the first 5 holes on the back 9.

4 man scramble, 9 holes, ~2900yd par 36.

Team shot 4 under to match the only other team. Was paired with the assistant pro (AP) @ the course, and a ~17 and ~23 hcp. AP and I could have 2 manned it to the same score quite possibly.

Highlights : Stuck my 50* to 5' and 10' and made the putt myself both times.

Lowlights : Left an eagle putt a revolution short, it was tracking the center. We seriously flirted with bogey on one hole.

42-40-82

Played ok, putted horribly...twice I three-putted on par 5s for bogey after getting there in two.

Played a shamble today. Was low 2 net of 4 and we shot 122 (-22). Middle of the pack.

It was an ABCD event for my club. Course handicaps were 80% so we had a 6 (me), 14, 14, 26. All the old guys love this format because they can hit 100y shots into the greens after my drive all day. Only thing I am really good for is my drive and we use their 2 net scores each hole (unless I birdie).
