44-44-88, with a couple 7's. Had some great bunker play, putted pretty poorly.

Fun round at my home course over the weekend.

Played the Par 5s in +2 (I'd guess I avg playing them in -1 to E)

Played the Par 3s in +1

Played the Par 4s in -4

Shot -1 70 limping in with bogeys on 17 and 18. The bogey on 18 was pathetic too -- center cut of fairway with 140 into the wind. I was too focused on keeping my 9i low and ended up turning it over and missing the green left. After a failed up and down, I tapped in for a bogey . I did hole out from 89 yards for eagle on a par 4 though!

I had two 3-putts on the Par 5s as well.

Made some real progress on my putting by changing my preshot thought. Game is rounding into form for a few weeks of tons of golf (9 rounds in 4 days).

Final numbers: 5/13 fairways, 15/18 greens, 30 putts

Yesterday I shot 44-32-76....AGAIN...same course...very next round.

Rating on the front is 37.3

Rating on the back is 36.0

Front is par 36 and back is 35...so it's really only a 0.3 stroke difference in difficulty relative to par.

Probably the weirdest thing that has happened to me in my golfing career so far.

The 3 bogeys after no 2:

6: 672 yard par 5. Perfect drive, decent 5 wood caught rough, 170 to pin off extreme uphill lie bad stance. Hit an absolutely perfect shot that is probably going to be within 10 feet but hits about 5 feet in front of the green and careens 90 degrees left. Thought my pitch was to a foot, but it was really to 6 feet and hit the putt perfect, thought I started it to high and it missed on the low side.

15: Missed 3.5 footer
16: bogeyed from 40 yards out in the middle of the fairway.

Oh and I 3 putted 17 after hitting it in two, something i've done like maybe once or twice. on that hole.

I am putting completely out of my mind...

Shot 76 today hitting 7 GIR. One birdie and one 3 putt! 29 putts total.

I now know how northerners feel in the winter. 13th straight day of significant rain. There was a 2 hour window to play in the morning but unfortunately the day job got in the way.

Now we are finally drying out, went from no roll to not being able to play doglegs straight since the ball just starts flying through them last week

ugh I tried to post a damn picture of the scorecard...whatever. I made an 11 on the first hole and then parred 13 of the next 17 for an 82.

played yesterday for first time in about 10 days...

played with my regular partner and a 4ish handicap..

very positively surprised as i semi-hung with the 4 handicap in the long game. probably a little optimistic saying that but what the heck...

but this 4 handicap had an incredibly good short game and mine has hit completely rock-bottom. scull/chunk/etc REPEAT....

so for short game back to youtube videos and internet articles and i think i have half solved it. the other half will be practice. basically way too wide a stance for shorter shots and swing is bottoming way too far backwards. also not getting weight forward. basically everything was wrong with it and i think i've semi-fixed it... need to do the dagolfdoc's "20 good shots in a row" challenge to really fix it. can't hit 20 decent shots in a row with poor fundamentals i don't think...

anyway, fairly optimistic for next time for everything...........two things of note that were good: non-tee shots over 100 yards and i really have become very good at hitting under tree limbs with my 4 iron.

i should note i played the blues where i often play the whites.... what a difference as is usually the case when i play the blue .... the whites = 7 iron and short. blues = 6 or 7 iron and longer.. i think both are good for improving the game. probably complementary practice mentally.

played with a couple of my buddies today in the k club (home of the 2006 ryder cup) really super course 7300 yards really a gem of a course went round in 67 (-5) play excellently a lot of water so your ironplay has to be really good

Had 2 360 lip outs and the ball actually bounced out of the cup because it wasn't cut right on another.

lol the 2 massive lip outs were me, but it really was this this time. Looked basically identical to the dude who missed his card at q school when it bounced out, dead center good speed.

38 (par 35). 1 birdie, 1 double.

Easy setup but still feels nice to hit some better shots. Last iron of the evening was just the sweetest purest 6 iron.

i had the opposite recently......... i had a putt that missed and was sitting probably at least 3/4 of an inch away from the the lip and somehow it jumped it in the cup. makes up for about 1000 ones the other way

sorry to hear about your putts......... that joe daley q-school situation was horrible. feel like the commish should have taken some executive action but then i guess he has to review hundreds of guys at all stages. 150 guys for 108 holes at the finals for starters.

2.Par 4 340 yards with a stream leading to a lake that is about 210
out. 4 Hybrid off the tee leaving me 145. Knock down 7 that I pulled a
tad but still hit the back of the green 22 feet from pin and 2 putted

Took 5 wood but got cute trying to swing slow landing in the side of the grass
bunker. Awful lie and just hit down on it to get on the green but was left with 33
feet and 2 putted for bogey

4. Par 4, 379 yards slight dogleg left.
Hit driver about 274 leaving 95 yards. Kinda pulled my wedge
but hit green 24 feet from pin and 2 putted.

5. Par 4 408 yards dog leg left.
Hit nice driver cutting some of the dogleg leaving me 105 from fairway
Heave wedge about 5 yards short of green. Poor chip to 10 feet but
sunk the putt

Hit 4 hybrid and my hand slipped leaving me 30 yards short. Hit low check

Pulled driver off tree but got members bounce back into the
fairway leaving me 65 yards to pin. Best shot of day to 3 feet and easy birdie.

Total grind of a round, was just not hitting the ball well.

funny how keeping the ball in the fairway and having a clue what you're doing from inside 100yds helps your score
