Nobody can tell you what you should "probably" get without getting fitted. Or at least going and trying out some drivers and seeing how you hit them. They could guess but it would only be a guess.

I know little about clubs, but I like my Ping g30 a lot. Played a bit with cobra fly z+ too and liked it less.

Ordered a new face balanced blob looking putter with a fatso grip. Been struggling closing the face with a blade putter and used to use a face balanced. Similar feel to the ugly TM one but way cheaper.

I have no shaming gaming clubs I think will lower my score. Hell up until 8 months ago I was using a 5 and 6 hybrid.

So in terms of best new drivers, is the Epic considered better than the M1/M2, or something else?

Epic for sure. Was even told that by a PGA teaching pro who is on TM's staff. I only took a few swings but it was like 12 yards longer than my R15

Depends on taste. If I had to make an observation about the Epic and Epic SZ, it would be that it is as deep as the other competitor drivers for sure, but it also tends to be more forgiving on toe-side mis-hits. You maintain a lot of ball speed (and thus distance) on pretty mediocre contact.

If I had to make an observation about the M1/M2 from last year or this year, it would be that a lot of the longest guys I know use either an M1 or M2, from either year, and they'd be using an Epic if they thought it was longer or more accurate.

All of those clubs are sick drivers, just pick the one that feels the best to you - that has a lot to do with sound - and trust that you have a good piece of equipment to use, because you do.

EDIT: I personally like the Cobra King LTD (the one with the clear weight port) and the D3 more than either, actually; the LTD is really long and the D3 is really accurate for me. There are so many great clubs out right now that you can't really make a mistake in selection.

Agree about the Cobra LTD. Gaming a pro with the stock Rogue shaft. I've never hit it longer in my life. All the guys I play with noticed the same thing. Picked it up on GG for 119. Has a small chip where the face meets the crown but nothing noticable at address. I believe they called it "value" condition.

You can take a bunch off that price with an M1, M2 or King LTD from last year, I think.

Last edited by CPHoya; 04-10-2017 at 07:19 PM. Reason: 2016 M2 for $299 is standard; you can get great stuff used for way less.

something i bot which i think will help my game is a lie impact board. plastic board and it has hole in it for the ball to sit.. on shorter game shots you can really hear/physically feel where you ground contact is relative to the ball.

i'm thinking of getting fitted golf clubs. i'm tall and i think i address the ball quite upright (consistent with being tall i think).... my semi problem is i'm such a bargain new or used club buyer. i'm thinking to get fitted taylormade or calloway that they get to sell much closer to list price than i'd like.

It's hard to get fitted/order custom in the standard retail setting if you're not looking at the latest club models. You might want to look at independent clubfitters. Though it's not necessarily easy to find what you want if you're looking at older clubs.

I have the same problem and it's largely why most of my clubs are 10+ years old... I don't want to pay full retail, and I don't want to buy clubs without getting fitted.

Now I just have to wait for the ****ing 24 hour 2 part epoxy to dry, should have ordered a quicker set one since it is just a putter.

Getting fitted was the best thing I ever did. I've added distance and my ball striking truly is better. The toughest part has been trusting those distance changes out on the course. I'm starting to dial that in though so if you can afford a new set, take the time to get fitted. Spend 2-3 hours one weekend and get what you want. Worth it!

Impact board was crucial for me getting my irons fitted. Also get impact tape for the bottom of the irons too. With those two things you can check to see if the lie of your clubs is correct or not.

Even today when I am feeling off I will take the board from my pro shot and go hit a few shots to check.

Got out with this today. So stable on the short putts it is insane. Feels impossible to miss a putt under 6 feet and my distance control was decent

This will actually include 3 cases. The Skytrak branded case ($129), a Full-Metal-Jacket ($100, 3rd party), SkyTrak Armour ($150, 3rd party, best option but heavy)

$2700 complete or $1850 for SkyTrak + cases only, shipping not included.

Pretty firm, but I don't sell a bunch of stuff online, so make things easy for me and maybe I'll move a bit or cover shipping or something.

I bought my skytrak on sale for $1695 5 months ago. $1700 is a little ambitious.
