Been struggling for a while trying to figure out this driver. Can't hit it to save my life so I went back to my r11s. Went to golftown and after talking with the store manager he took it back from me and I got two new vokey wedges (60* and 52*) and two dozen prov's. not bad for a club I got for free. Wedges are awsome and feel like butter (nothing like a new vokey imo)

Agreed, I got a pair of these and love em... and so far I haven't had any slipping issues.

Picked up a Cobra S3 5-wood yesterday. Have a Ping Rapture V2 hybrid as my next longest club after driver but it really fell out of favor with me over time, resorted to just leaving it in the car as I'd never swing it. S3 should be a good gap filler between my driver (also Cobra, S9-1) and 4i. Should get a few rounds with it before my big trip two weeks from now but it felt just like my driver.

Really need to get some hybrids or something. Maybe even a 5 wood to give me something that I can have a go at the pin at from over 200 yards.

Re: What golf gear did you buy today?

Picked up a Red Cobra Amp Cell driver. Like the solid feel and sound. Still working out the loft angles of the myfly. Hitting it straight when I don't overswing. Played 3 nines with three different loft settings. Loving the distance just need to get used to the different ball flight from the callaway hyper X I've been playing for the last five years.

Low price, solid grip, great fit. A+, would buy again. Have bought again, this is my 4th glove of this exact same model in the last 14 months.
Bought a 3 pack yesterday morning for something like $8 a glove and put one of them in play yesterday afternoon. Really pleased with the feel and tackiness on a hot humid day. Def recommend.

Re: What golf gear did you buy today?

Just bought Mizuno MP-R12 52 and 56 degree wedges to go with the MP-59's I got last month. I love these wedges. I had Vokey's that I really like, but they were non-conforming (which really isn't a problem for me), but that shows how old they were. Also just put the Super Stroke 3.0 grip on my putter.

I have vokey wedges and love them, but the new Ping gorge grooves look pretty smooth as well. Let me know what you think of the super stroke grip, I have a scotty and don't want to take original grip off. I just might buy a cheaper putter and throw grip on there to try it out.

I've just practiced with the Super Stroke (I have a Ping Anser II Scottsdale) a few times, and I really like it. Putting hasn't really been a problem, but I do get a little handsy, and the grip seems to really get rid of that. Who knows, 3 months from now I may decide I hate it and put the the original type grip on, but for now, I'm optimistic.

I have a Scotty as well, and I hate the grip, but I just can't find it in me to change the grip on a Scotty.
My Odyssey White Hot 7 (?) has the GOAT grip and feel, and I end up using that more often.

(yes, I carry 2 putters...don't ask me)

Well lets think about this this....... If I do not like it, I can sell it for a lot more with the original grip on it vs a super stroke on it. Omg!!! Genius !!

Luckily I dont plan on having these balls for "over time" to come to fruition!

Im pretty lax when it comes to looking for my ball. If I dont find it in a couple pass throughs when around OB obstructions I just drop to save time. I really should be more pro active so I dont go thru balls so damn quick.

Tbh, i am not sure. I like to think there is a difference as I used new balls and it is probably just in my mind.

Re: What golf gear did you buy today?

Had $100 to spend w/ Titleist for participating in an event, so I bought a new golf bag (previous Ping Hoofer 3 was 10 yrs old).
