Came here to post this. Holy ****! My friend has one and we played in a captains choice recently and I tried it and was mashing the ball with ease. I usually don't nut too much over equipment but if you got the money get one, period.

for those that don't follow my backyard thread...

My plans for the retractable netting are going to have to wait. I had already purchased this 10x10x20 net with framing corners (uses EMT conduit) and after I decided it was too big, I wanted to use the netting to make a corner cage on cables to retract the netting...

not going to work for various reasons.

Anyway...I ended up setting up the cage today. I went 10x10x17 instead of 20. It's huge and awesome.

btw, the 10x10x10 version of this is only about $200 and I've seen pics of them in garages and spare bedrooms. You can cut the EMT and make it as tall or short as you have space for. Really good netting.

Pretty easy to set up. Most time consuming part was painting the EMT. Glad I did...would have looked like crap with it bare metal.

oh, lol, subscription HELL. No wonder I haven't heard of this thing before. I don't mind shelling out $2k for the device, but their month subscription fees are a ****ing joke.

absolutely, especially considering the condition that of a bunch of my wedges started in.

don't forget, you're shaving metal with this thing so don't go blowing off your work without eye protection.

clicgear 3.5, imo. folds up super compact, really good brake, and they have a ton of accessories if you're in to that sort of thing.

+1 I walk 95% of the time.

I just bought one this year. I needed one that folds up small since I have a sub in my trunk and I can fit everything in there now. Plus the way the front wheel is mounted is a better design and pretty much everything about it is the ****.

if you play winter (or even shoulder season) golf, the mitts+hand warmers are well worth the price....as is the umbrella holder and the oversized drink holder.
clicgear really has their **** together, but do NOT go 2-wheel, 4-wheel or the swivel 3-wheel. they just aren't as good to use.

full disclosure: clicgear is based out of oregon (where i play), and their understanding of and response to what it's like to play golf in oregon year round may bias my opinion of their product.

I walk about 1% of my rounds per year and don't own a Clicgear but just looking at them in the shops I can tell they are 1000% better than anything else.

SkyTrak is quickly taking themselves out of the running. Read on an (old) review that you can only do single player with Trugolf and if that is the case...lolololol no. Also, there isn't so much as a phone number or contact email on their web site, so I have zero confidence of support.

Looking at other options. Flightscope Xi looks interesting.

Any others I should be looking at?

Not familiar with Skytrak but just bought a house and am thinking of installing a launch monitor room. Was actually reading this thread just last night regarding the Flightscope Xi. $2500 for the Flightscope plus $1800 more for projector, tablet, etc.

I have a friend with a Skytrak that I have messed around with a couple times, just the driving range part of it would be worth 2k to me in the winter, but maybe I'm just boring. When put up next to the more expensive LM's the information accuracy seems to do pretty well, although you don't get any club head information. I have read almost everything as I've been considering pulling the trigger for a couple months now, and it seems they are actually very good about constantly upgrading/tweaking the software, if your reading reviews I'd be sure to read the more recent ones.

GC2 seems to be upgrade from Skytrak, maybe you should look there, I don't know a lot about the mid level flightscopes though. FWIW said friend with the Skytrak is a huge golf dork who's like a -1.5 handicap and is extremely happy with it. He's more into ball information/range then playing rounds though.

Yeah, I am leaning more towards the route the guy in the thread squash posted went. Flightscope seems like a great product with better support.

But that shifts the focus to software. E6Golf is the go-to simulator and they seems to know it. It is $2k for the software which includes 15 courses. Additional course packs of 12 courses run $400 each.

They do not list direct support for Skytrak on their website, but rather, Skytrak lists subscriptions for E6 on their website....for $300/yr for the 15 course version. No mention of course packs. Not sure I could bring myself to pay $400 for a course pack on software I don't actually own, so that whole model turns me off.

I think I would skip the projector and screen for now since I am outdoors and just go with a laptop and monitor + tablet. I already have all those.

So it looks like I'm looking at ~$5k if I want to go FS Xi + E6.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
