Damn you people and your left hand gloves. Every good deal for a lefty is always "out of stock" or "currently unavailable".

Try RainGrip gloves by footjoy. They come in a set of left and right gloves. You can't sweat through them. They're amazing if you can get past the fact that they're black. In fact, as a left-handed player, you may be able to find a righty to split a few pairs with.

A couple of weeks ago I dinked around with a trackman at Golfsmith for a while for kicks, and found that the Nike Vapor and the new Big Bertha were pretty similar in distance and accuracy (quite a bit longer/consistent than my current Covert, and consistently better than the G30, which I had actually gone in thinking I wanted). Anyway, picked up a Vapor for a three day memorial day tournament, and LOVED IT. Hit it decently long (longer than usual), and yesterday hit 13/14 fairways. It has been a LONG time since I've done that. My mi****s were way more accurate than usual, and kept a decent amount of their distance.

Bushnell laser range finder. Played my first round with it yesterday and after a couple of holes it was fairly easy to site the pin and get distances. Does wonders for the game. Funny thing is the course I played has GPS on the carts. The range finder would show 3-5 yards difference most of the time, usually shorter.

They probably don't change the pin location that the gps uses everyday.

Thoughts? I'm debating whether its worth the $300 or whatever they go for nowadays. I shoot in the low 80's, and seem to do okay with distances. I borrowed my friends for the past two rounds, but it is the previous model. I've been having trouble hitting the pin, and often inadvertently get the distance to the bank on the back of the green/a tree, etc. Perhaps the newer model is easier, especially with the vibrate feature.

When you have trouble with iron distances like I have, knowing distances is a huge help. I always used to step off the distance and say, it doesn't look that long so I will hit my x iron. My first round out with it I hit 8 greens which is my most of the season, even though I was in some worse positions that I have been lately.

The vibrating gives you the feedback you need to know you hit the pin. I would agree, the new technology makes it easier to lock on your target.

I picked mine up from Dick's for $275 (on sale this week). Rock Bottom Golf also has it at that price ongoing.

Just remember than if you play in any tournaments you can't use one that has the slope calculated distance.

Picked up a box of B330-rx balls. Found one on the course and it was going about 10 yards more carry on my 4 hybrid then the old tp3 pentas I was still using and the spin seemed about the same.

Can anyone inform me which shafts are currently hot. Looking at picking up a titleist 913 d2 8.5 stiff flex. Swing speed anywhere from 98 to 105.

Thread title needs to be changed to "Other than a Bushnell Rangefinder, what golf gear did you buy today"

If you don't have one, get one--yes, it's worth the money.

I just ordered a set of Nike Covert Forged irons today for $300 off ebay today... how will I be able to tell if they are fakes? There is a return policy and the seller was very reputable but I never even considered they could be fake.

i looked at no reviews or anything, bought a new driver for first time in pry 8 to 9 years. Went with SLDR TaylorMade 10 degree loft(old driver was TM R5, 10.5 degree) I had a coupon to local place, got it for 170.00, had $50 GC so $120 out of pocket. thoughts?

Hit it at range, it was very similar in length, as far as actual club length, to old driver. thought i hit it decent but old driver was 10.5 degree, could def tell a difference on ball trajectory

as far as range. i was hitting spots quite deep on good drives. I had only been to said range once this year prior and i had huge winds behind me. Accounting for that, I def think i was getting a decent amount of distance with new driver. easily 10 to 15 yards I'd think, because I was landing generally where I was with the winds maybe a bit shorter though. Also, drives with wind were limited, I pry drove 25 to 30 with new driver. seems good thus far

On an unrelated note, im clubbing down off tee boxes more often from now on, i vow to it.

Hard to imagine you wouldn't gain at least 10 yards. I gained 5-10 when I went from burner superfast to sldr (and now jetspeed that I hit straighter)

SLDR is a great driver as long as you hit the center of the face
