I didn't get it today but i bought a

Mizuno JPX Ez 3 Hybrid.
One of the easiest clubs to hit and finally a longer club i can hit with confidence. Really wished i had hybrids sooner. The first time i tried it out i hit it about 10 times. 9/10 were extremely good and accuarate. If you are very good its not for you as its nearly impossible to shape it. But if you want an accurate easy launch straight long hybrid then you can't go wrong.

Just came back from the range and mainly worked on my driver and wood - but also walked over to the putting greens and played around with the new putter - really felt the 2-ball putter helped immensely.

Picked up a set of Cally Apex Pro irons and WOW... They're amazing. I tried them side by side with AP2 714's, the latest greatest PING's (don't recal the model), and my X forged irons that I was playing. There was no comparison. These Apex Pro are the real deal. Callaway nailed it with these. The feel was amazing and the ball comes off the face so hot compared to the others its unreal. I went with the KBS Tour V shafts and these will stay in my bag for awhile I think.

I've hit the Apex Pros a couple of times. Really love the feel of these, can't tell any difference in distance from my old Bridgestone J36's though.

Has anyone tested the new Taylor Made SLDR drivers yet?

Ive hit the SLDR and all I can say is that it is a super low spinning head like they say. I couldnt really get the 9.5 430 with whatever stock shaft was in it up in the air. Granted it was 48* and windy but I just seemed to hit lower bullets with it. I think it could be a pretty good driver with the right shaft pairing but I dont think the stock offerings will be a good fit for everyone. They made the head so low spinning that you almost have to loft up to get the ball in the air. Just my opinion on it.

The article I saw suggested lofting up 3 percent (or more?) from whatever you used before, so that makes sense.

I played with a guy on Saturday that had a SLDR. He was definitely hitting a low trajectory bullet, but was getting very solid distance.

I am going to try to pick up the 3 wood with the TP shaft, hit that and really liked it. Will probably try the driver at the next demo day b/c I'm now curious about that.

i've been playing the sldr with tp shaft for a few months now and the ball flight height is pretty much the same between my old 9.5 driver and the 10.5 sldr set to 12.5.

I find this hard to believe.

I tried the Apex 3 different times (before I eventually purchased them) and always found I was getting more distance than anything I hit them against (which included the Titleist AP1, AP2, Ping G25, Karstens, TM Speedblades, Callaway XHot2), plus more forgiveness (outside of the Karstens).

They are very good shoes, however, they don't hold up well under wet conditions. I play mostly morning golf and so I usually opt for a more waterproof pair of shoes than these.

Yes, the feel is so nice. I got about 5-10 yards extra per club compared to my 712 AP2's and my old X Forged set, plus 50% more accurate IMHO. I hit them all side by side. Still can't believe the difference. Amazing. I've never bought a set of irons brand new before, but these I had to have. Took the trade in value for my AP2's and never looked back.

Sold my R1 to a buddy while playing a round today (for $150) and grabbed the SLDR right away (10.5 °) Fujikura stiff shaft.

At the driving range right now and it feels awesome. Low and long every shot so far.

I'm about 20 balls in so far and find there is a massive difference in performance, compared to my old R1.

Def going lower and longer.

However hard you find that to believe that was my experience. I loved the feel but did not see any improvement in distance over my current set. I have no problems with Callaway or any other brand so I don't really see why I'd make this up...

I only hit the 6 iron and it had a different shaft than what's in my set and I did not exactly do a scientific experiment so there's certainly room for me being wrong.

I hope that you will enjoy your new set of irons and I think it's great that you found a set which feels great and that gained you some distance :-)

So my wife got me a birthday gift of going to Carlsbad to the Callaway HQ for a custom fitting. It was like golf nerd porn. Amazing setup. So much fun.
I've been playing Nike combos for 7 yrs. ended up with Apex pro forged 4-pw with project X 6.0 shaft. The feel is so amazing. My current 6 iron was 170 and this is averaging 185 with a much tighter distribution.

Also picked up 16* hybrid as a 3w replacement. Lots of fun. Highly recommended

Ok - just to clarify, my post wasn't a dig at you--just reflecting how my experience was drastically different than yours. That's all.

Cheers
