Tourney Idea Help
I'm planning on hosting a tourney August 18th at my local course. We will be having discounted golf that day, $3 for members for cart9 and $1 a hole for nonmembers for cart/greenfee. We have done this the last 2 years and have packed the course from 7am til about 2pm when everyone vanishes. I have decided to try to get a tourney going that day starting at 1. We do not really have any cash payback scrambles during the year so I was planning to do a 100% cash payback with no fees.
Members:$31
NonMembers:$43
$25 goes towards the base prizepool. Now here is where I was wanting to go a bit further. I wanted to make additional prizepools for guys who wanted to buyin bigger. The problem, if Team A only has one player buy into the next prizepool(we will call it Diamond at $50) and Team B has 4 guys buy in to the Diamond pool we now have $250 in the pool. Though obv we can not have Team A win and have 1 guy scoop the pot as he should only be able to win $50 off of Team B and $50 off of any other team.
Is there some way to simplify this or will I just have to deal with this payout/refund mess?
I'm open to any ideas, I just started throwing this around tonight. I did come up with a name, Scramblin' & Gamblin' Open. meh at least its unique
The event will be a 4 man scramble.
My goal will be to get 36 players and I would estimate at least half probably wouldn't even be interested in additional prizepools.
I was also trying to find some cheap pari-mutuel software but haven't been able to do that. Everything I find is over $100. Anyone ever use pari-mutuel for a scramble?
