Could it be that Rory is not the goat? He has shown sick consistency lately, but not for long enough to where I personally never expected him to have those finishes. I do think some people will now slow down and be more hesitant to say he is the next Tiger or whatever for a little bit, but I never expected people to jump on him for his finish at the Masters. For one, that finish should be expected and is completely standard for just about every golfer to have some of every year. The only exception I've witnessed was Tiger through his runs of greatness.
Also Rory isn't in the spotlight for being so close to completing a "comeback". Therefore noone is going to really talk about him losing "it" because he hasn't been trying to get "it" back. If Rory were to continue to struggle his next event or two, he will absolutely start getting a lot of heat. I doubt anyone is predicting that happening though.
