How can a DUI be lower than that lol!

One of them you are handcuffed, booked and jailed and your booking photo is plastered for eternity.

You also don't contractually lose endorsements over divorce. DUI may trigger get-out clause.

He may get suspended from tour for this. Lucky, sort of, that it doesn't matter.

Losing driving restriction for a year sucks. No matter that he has other options. His ability to drive a car is the same as a 12-year old girl.

Trying to claim it was prescription pain meds seems a little dubious when you're found asleep at the wheel at 3am on a holiday weekend. I always try to give Tiger the benefit of the doubt but seems like a clear case of damage control here.

Contrary to golfnutt's assertions, the Tiger story isn't even a top story less than 24 hours after the news broke (so much for that "media circus" claim):

ESPN story says he was asleep in a running car. How are you arrested for DUI if the car is parked?

You're still behind the wheel. Pretty sure in some states the keys don't have to be in the ignition and the car doesn't even have to be started. My friend got a DUI passed out in similar fashion.

Second story on my google news and top news story on yahoo.

Media circus is only 24-hours for anything. Even if North Korea bombs us.

I am predicting media circus for court appearance if it even happens.

Absolutely DUI if pulled over at side of street with keys in ignition. You are in control of a vehicle.

it's an understandable law that is still stupid.

you want someone who realizes too late that they are impaired to be able to pull the **** over and sleep it off, and while the light may be on, there is not a motel-6 on every corner.

rumor has it, it's warmer at 3:00am with the heater on. Additional rumors have the heater non-functional unless the car is on.

also...proximity keys are a thing.

I have no idea if this is the case, but how much of this situation is indicative of a serious addiction to Vicodin? I googled it, and confusion and drowsiness are two of the symptoms, but obviously this could have also been an honest mistake, I guess?

Agree. I think even if you are in the passenger seat, they will still nail you for DUI. You can't even listen to the radio in your car I guess and nod off in a parking lot.

I thought he was given a Refuse to blow charge? If you have not been drinking why refuse?

Also here in Canada if your asleep in your car with the keys in your pocket you can be charged with DUI

At station, he blew .000.

I wonder if this could cost him any parental visitation rights? Elin saying the children wouldn't be safe under his care or some such.

Didn't that happen in a Cheech and Chong movie?

The only thing we know for certain at this point is that golfnutt cares about this more than anyone, including Tiger himself.

Tiger Hamsterdam baby.

Slow news day + me having to pretend to work = Post on message board about one of the top athlete's in history getting pulled over for a DUI in the middle of the road with engine running, thinking he is in Los Angeles and driving to Orange County and blowing .000000000 at 3am.

Add in that he thought he was going to have to recite the national anthem backwards and it is posting gold. I would get to the "Brave the of home" and that would be the end of that chapter.

Flat tires and damage to the car.

This ain't your normal DUI by any stretch. Something happened out there to another fixture or vehicle to cause that sort of damage. If this is a hit and run, this is far from over.

***New documents released late Tuesday afternoon by Jupiter, Florida, police reveal that both tire rims on the driver's side of the Mercedes had minor damage and the front and rear tires on that side of the vehicle were flat.

Police also observed damage to the bumper on the driver's side, white scrapes and scuffs on the rear bumper, and the passenger side rear taillight was not working, according to the documents.***
