Eagerly awaiting Tuq's analysis

Considering it should be exclusively a score card analysis I can't wait for the spin

Even the haters have to acknowledge that Tiger being back and at least showing flashes of the old greatness is good for golf

It depends on what you think his problems are.. If you think they're physical, than today is proof he's in great shape. If you think he has mental/yip issues, starting a round 7 shots back might not be the greatest test of nerves. Falling apart after being in the lead seems to support the fact that he might have mental issues.

Just wondering, can you admit you're biased?

Loooooool that's a good one.

Enjoy touching yourselves Tiger nut huggers I'd say you've earned it. Swing looked on point for first time in a few years.

More than just ratings though. When Tiger is competitive, golf enters the mainstream sports discussion. Otherwise it's a niche sport that is mostly forgotten about between majors.

Why should I care if golf is part mainstream sports discussion?

One possible argument could be more mainstream attention paid to golf attracts more people to the game, which in turn could lead to better caliber of golf played in the future.

That would be good for people who enjoy watching good golf being played.

I'd rather be watching the best golfers in the world from a pool of 50 million golfers, compared to the best from a pool of 25 million golfers.

This, plus if you like watching golf, the more mainstream it is, the more options you will have to watch/follow it.

If you like playing golf, the more popular it is, the better it is for golf courses to stay open, to stay in good playing condition, etc.

great round today........ BUT how much would people discount this result because he was playing by himself? in some ways i think it would feel like a practice round which i don't think even the most yip-tortured golfer has problems with.

Yes, every spectator on the course following you, every commentator and millions of tv-viewers watching your every shot on my second round back after 15 months - that's how I roll on my practice rounds.

Exciting. Let's see how he does on Sunday. See if the back holds up for 4 days. People say his weekend woes were mental, but as a long time sufferer from disk issues and think it's physical.

Can't wait for all the "he'll never make a cut again" crowd to quickly pivot to this as soon as he's competitive again.

Couldn't find gif,

God it's great to see Tiger fist pump again, even if it is a weak one.
