Guess I'm just a frustrated Tiger fan.

If you want to play the skinny legs card, guys like Charl Schwartzel and Mike Weir should have like 3 year careers before their knees give out

I don't understand, what was this in response to? You made a perfectly reasonable post, and a couple of people made short comments back to you about the "thin legs" part of your post. Really not much of a reason for either side to fly off of the handle tbh

I am a more frustrated fan...today was rough.

As for Charl or Mike, you have seen them swing a golf club, right? Get them into the mid 120's in swing speed for a decade+ and then make them run (stupidly I might add) miles everyday and see how long their careers are. Sadly, I am getting to the point of accepting that Tigers body might actually be worn out.

FML.

I think BO went off because UCbanana asked for evidence of skinny legs and I, a person who has played with Tiger while he was wearing shorts and have seen him numerous times In shorts said I am your evidence...which everyone then simply continued with lmao and LOL nonsense. It is pretty LOL that they simply ignored my saying that he does in fact have skinny legs (but very strong) and just kept going off because they didn't like BO's tone of post.

Quit trying to be the voice of reason in a thread with so many clowns.

Fingers crossed that Tiger is healthy at Augusta. It really is shaping up to be a great one with Rory + Tiger + Phil playing well. Add in Watson, Bradley, Schwartzel and the field is just soooo deep.

I tried some metal spikes the other day and each swing felt like my left leg wanted to rip apart at the knee, monty python style.

oh and also tiger is back. At what point does he dump foley for making him use this stupid ultra-mechanical backswing?

I have no input if his THIN legs could add to the problems he is having, but I am pretty sure the issue is called repetitive stress. Harrison Frazar wrote a great piece last year and he described his injuries as "imagine taking a piece of steel and slamming it into the ground as hard as you can several hundred times a day for 30 years". Does that help you guys understand that he may or may to have done PEDs but regardless Tigers body has had a rough 35 years. The explosiveness of his lower body is not something that is meant to be done for decades. There is a reason there is a shelf life on most professional athletes...again, it's called repetitive stress.

And yes, one last time, Tiger has skinny ass legs attached to a big ass ass. That big ass creates so much ground force that is delivered to the planet via his left leg and knee that it certainly would be safe to assume it will create problems over time. No that doesn't mean he used PEDs to take care of himself before...and no it doesn't mean he didn't.

Those are perfectly in line with what we'd expect based on the training he does. They are absolutely not "thin" by any reasonable definition of the word.

Compare those to his early years where his legs were toothpicks and it is quite obvious he's worked on them just as hard as his upper body.

Thin, but strong.

“Since legs provide the foundation for a golf swing, I would recommend the following exercises to help you build a solid base: extensions, curls, presses, plus regular squats or hack squats. The last are probably the single most important exercise for building strong legs.”

Skinny, not skinny, toned, sexy, whatever you want to call Tiger's legs, I'll explain the issue I have with what BO said.

Running backs in the NFL will tear an acl without even being touched by anyone and they have god damn tree trunks for legs.

Some people just get injured while others don't. To just be like, "oh, yeah, duh it's his twig legs" is nothing short of ridiculous when there are a million other things it could be. There are skinny long drive dudes who crush and don't have these issues. Guess I just proved BO wrong hurrr durrr.

Meh, whatever...I don't even talk about Tiger anymore because it's just too god damn painful. Then this happens and ofc I can't help myself.

This morning I told my dad that Tiger is due for another season ending injury. I told him that all I cared about was Tiger staying healthy for the rest of this year.

Literally said this (in much longer form) this morning before Tiger even got to the course.

It's been a long, long day.

I'll be honest, today is the first time I have legitimately had the thought, "Wow, Tiger might be done." Like, done, as in playing a constant game of keep-away with his leg injuries and never winning another major

In the unintended consequences department, I'd say that the multiple swing changes requiring 1000s of hours of hitting golf balls have done more harm than good in regards to reducing the stress on his knee.

I worry about my knees when playing golf. My body type is basically Graeme McDowell (short, stocky torso and short arms, long legs).

6'0" 205 with 15" circumference calves...

Left knee definitely takes a lot of force during a round of golf.

Only Tiger can go from shooting the best round of his career and looking prime for the Masters to done in a week.

Read this on the ESPN website this morning:
Quote:
Woods, who entered the final round at Doral eight strokes back, was asked Saturday about his health, given that he was playing his third consecutive event. Asked how his body was holding up, Woods said, "Oh, it feels great."

His Sunday mood was dampened as he got off to a poor start. He failed to birdie the easy first hole and made bogeys at the sixth, seventh and 10th holes. Despite showing signs of injury at the 10th, Woods played on, hitting a poor approach at the 11th, but getting it up and down for par. After hitting a good drive at the 12th, however, he withdrew.
Any chance he was having another crybaby moment, and was looking to get off the course to avoid further 'embarrassment'? Sorry if this was asked earlier.

We can only hope this is the case, but it seems unlikely.
