i dont care how many rory wins as long as he keeps eldrick from winnin 4. of course if rory runs off 13 more by the time he is 36 and tiger wins 0 more sure will hurt tigers case.

That long (greenside) bunker shot Rory hit today was just so stupid. That's an impossible shot, right? And he almost holes is. How in the ****

The greatest natural talent is the sultan of slice, Bruce Lietzke. His definition of practicing was to 3 putt so he could get more practice at putting.

The second greatest natural talent is Mr. Eldrick "Tiger" Woods. Who else in the history of golf has purposely made their swing a POS, not once, but twice, and still captured major titles?

TW has hit more fw's and more greens, but has made more bogies than Rory. And being that Rory has had so many more short birdie putts, but his proximity is almost the same as TW's, we can deduce that Rory is missing it in places further from the hole than Tiger. Rory is obviously getting it up and down a much higher percentage from places on average that are worse than where TW is hitting it. Because he chips and putts better right now.

NXT did the work above. Like him, I agree that Rory is playing better. I just don't think it's necessarily tee to green. His short game is just light years ahead of TW's right now.
So this digression of the first 36 holes is kind of overcome by events/clouded by today.

I just want to make sure I know how to use this whole strokes gained putting.

Honda Tiger is -.3. GOAT Tiger is .7, a difference of 1. So if Honda Tiger putt like GOAT Tiger he'd be -5, tied for 9th with Chalmers. Which is nice.

But we're not done. Honda Tiger hit one into a hazard, kind of like stroke and distance. That shouldn't really count. So if Honda Tiger putt like GOAT Tiger and didn't hit balls in the water, he'd be -7, joint 4th with Brian Harman. Oh yeah. That Brian Harman.

Well, it looks pretty grim. BUT. Tiger and Stevie were such a good team, and Stevie has always been especially good between 100-175 yards (he says that yardage reminds him the most about racing, and when he races, he is in it to win it). So that's like another 2/3 of a stroke a day-- and that's just with Stevie carrying the bag between 175-100 yds out.

So if Honda Tiger putted like GOAT Tiger, didn't hit balls in the water, and had Stevie on his bag, he'd be at -9, tied with Dobie Gillis, and looking up at Rory McIlroy.

Kewl.

Also, if you can, where are you from Shemp..you are now number 1 on my list, sorry BeerMoney but it wasn't gonna happen for us anyway.

Actually I forgot about Stadler and he is my #1 but I am old schoool to him anywho.
Thank you for the huge compliment. I'd love to meet the DFW contingent. And that sniveling little prick Stadler wouldn't be nearly as appreciative of how good you used to be as me. Just sayin. Kids today have no respect.

I hope you didn't take my response saying "you are and idiot" personally....that wasn't directed at you specifically, just humans in general. I thought it was a great question cuz it is...thats why I answered it. Honestly, I wasn't saying YOU are an idiot, even though that is what I said....

Tiger with the front 9 tease on Sunday again! Seems like his new trend in tournaments he is seemingly out of contention, makes a big front nine then runs outta steam but gives everyone hope he will be able to carry it over to the next tournament.

Seeing him rolling in some putts is the key, its the flat stick thats held him back without question, even before he got his swing squared away (which I think its pretty close now).

Hoping for some good TV as well, Rory obviously fun to watch so pure.

The real question --

If Tiger plays even on the back 9 -- do the analysts say he's showing progress? or is it "old Tiger comes in at 33 and puts pressure on leaders"

How about:

"This is what he needed. A 9:20 start with Brandt Jobe is just the sort of thing that makes it seem like it is not really Sunday, and so he can go low."

That was a spectacular round/very entertaining. Very solid weekend.

Joint second and 3 strokes off the lead, I still think he played almost as well as he did at Sherwood...
