Re: Social Media
You're in a band, too? Awesome.
The video is great. Simple instruction with an enthusiastic presentation.

Re: Social Media
Honestly, I thought the vid was pretty fantastic. You're aiming it (rightfully so) towards the average golfer, and that person can take several nuggets away from what you presented. Energy/positive attitude makes it watchable, and the tips make it valuable.
Nice job.

Re: Social Media
Being relatively young(20s) beginner, I found my golf coach through golf forum/internet searches and his comprehensive website(youtube videos, online lesson booking, pricing chart) was definitely one of the reason I chose him instead of going to the local golf pro. His youtube videos allow me before my first lesson to know exactly how/what he teaches.
So yes, I believe having a solid online presence will help your reputation/business tremendously. You are already off to a solid start with your 2p2 posts!

Thanks! Funny about the Billy Mays - never thought about that! Glad you liked the video!

thanks! Yes, I've played in bands since I was about 13, and majored in guitar in college. I've released a couple cds- my last band was called Drift - www.driftsound.com if you want to hear some tunes. I'm a music junkie, and that was the only other career I ever considered.

I'm not sure how to post a link to my FB page, but you can find me at either Rob Stocke (personal page), or Rob Stocke PGA (my golf page), I'll see if I can figure out how to get a link on here. Try this:

Yes, GCOG is a pretty special place, and I'm very fortunate to have worked there for the past 10 years. Two very good golf courses, and an amazing practice facility. The membership is great & it's a great place to play/teach. If you're ever in the Atlanta area, let me know - I'd love to have you out to play!

Re: Social Media
Hey, when I'm on my real computer I'll try to friend u on facebook. I like facebook especially after I defriended a few people. I think there are good affiliate marketing opps there. Pay people with huge golf-related friend's lists 10% commish (not forever) to steer high quality business your way
Two guys you may know of (or even know) who've leveraged internet are shawn clements (sp??) And brian manzella
I like twitter but never notice anything that bubba or the british/irish guys write unless I specifically search. The big guys on twitter are british/irish and bubba/fowler/cink. Probably some others
Ok, golf friend request sent. I'll do personal friend request too. Bump up both our counts

Reason: friend request was very easy on bberry

Not sure If this is something you want to do, but I recalled this topic while watching those videos and thought it's worth mentioning

Thanks LFC - I'm always looking for advice! I'm now officially on twitter (@dagolfdoc - thanks Varsity for recommending the handle), I'm getting in the habit of "tweeting" regularly, so feel free to follow me. I've also recently purchased a new software system (Analyzr -- the ONLY golf software for Mac's - it's awesome!), so I should be posting more instruction videos on youtube & my website soon.
I'll be filming golf tips in the next few weeks, so if you have some tips you'd like to see covered, post here or on FB!
thanks
rob

Re: Social Media
Rob I'd really like it if you could do some tips on how expert golfers decide what shot to play on short / mid distance shots. I am thinking from like 30 yards to maybe 80 yards away from the flag what factors they are weighing to decide on shot type / trajectory and then some specifics of technique of the various options. This is an area I get very confused by.
