I'd agree if this thread was about Patrick Reed or Jimmy Walker a few months ago.

4 Majors at age 25 is a little different

IMO a GOAT title takes at least a decade of proving yourself. He is def the GATT tho.

I think much of the Rory GOAT talk is to bug the Tiger Lovers who declared him the GOAT and handed him the title of beating Jack's major record.

Lets face it Rory is playing in a much more competitive era in golf. Just like Tiger compared to Jack's time. Its nice to add a third golfer to the ranks. So many young guns have been declared the next Tiger no one has come close to the expectations until yesterday.

Ldo.

It'll be interesting to see if Rory can manage to stay single and keep practicing as much as he has been. Dude's a beast that's for sure.

How will his swing have to change with age as well?

Why does it have to change? I think one players travails may be clouding your thinking on this.

Other than getting slightly shorter in length of backswing most players don't change their swing to any significant degree.

Jack, Arnie, Trevino, Snead, Watson, Couples, Montgomery, Phil, Els, Kite, Strange, Langer, Irwin and Floyd just off the top of my head barely changed their swings to any degree over time.

Yeah look at the way Freddy still swings at his age (though there are back problems they don't seem to affect the swing)

i tried to bring this up sunday. Rory is no way 5'10 but i guess he is listed at that so we will go with it. but

Him being shorter than tiger should alleviate a lot of probability or back problems...BUT

Rory right now, and no one wanted to hearit Sunday from me is winning because the game is about driving! He was a lock to win sunday, and everyone who knows golf knew that. he is the longest guy out there who is any good, and he is straighter than anyone who isn't a pipsqueek. so when rory's distance edge goes...which it WILL guys will add distance like they needed to when tiger came along and they will start to rory proo courses also, getting the rough in at 320+ yards out etc.

Rory wins because he is the best driver on the planet and a great mid iron player. Rory still has lots of strokes left to gain when it comes to his inside 140 game where he leaves a bunch of strokes out on the course.

If Rory grew an Afro he still wouldn't be 5'10".

I read somewhere that he was just 5' 8", which I noticed because I'm just an inch or so more than that.

We had a junior at our club about 10 years ago who was probably about 5' 6" and won the longest drive both days at the Captains Weekend. He probably weighed about 8 stone.

Most interesting stat for Rory is 9 PGA wins and 4 of them are majors. Im not sure if this ratio is epic or a warning sign. To me, it feels like he needs to get a lot more consistent week to week if he is going to keep winning majors. Usually winning multiple majors is the by product of performing consistently.

I really hope that both Rory and Tiger perform at their best the next few years. I would love to see them go toe to toe on sundays.
