Re: Road to break 90

I am jealous! Seeing that you got 10 GIR, I think your next step is to improve your short game.

Re: Road to break 90

day1 of Club Championship is behind me
average score is much higher than I expected, but played great round and my goal (top20 is still reachable)

82 again great front 9
should made a birdie on #1, short par4, was on the fringe after 1, but terrible first and 2nd putt
on #14 out of bounds from the tee, and pulled 3rd shot into the rough
happy with 3 up&downs

(net score is wrong since I don't have recent rounds on the phone)

5 off the leader but this is not my goal (to be honest). Will be playing with much better players tomorrow so I expect more pressure.
Aiming to another <90 score

here are scores from today: http://eagle.pzgolf.pl/Public/Livesc...3-b097bf604815

Wow look at that front 9. I'm guessing you are at that point where making bogey is disappointing. Must be nice! Here's to breaking 80 in the hopefully near future.

Well pretty sure they're in meters not yards, but yeah they are still short after the conversion.

Re: Road to break 90

LFC is the male mammal posted in post 134. Those are in metres. Still a short course but the rating and slope seem reasonably comparable to the difficulty of an averagish course.

as I wrote before:

don't know how is it calculated but as I mentioned before- it's rather a really easy course

ed: oh I see on that golfshot scorecard it's says 5285, don't know what the hell is it

ed2: ok I know. It is 5780meters, but golf shots thinks it is yards and because I set "meters" in settings it calculated 5780yards into 5285 meters, which is of course wrong.
so 128 slope for 6321 yards seems good ?

course is 5780 meters (6321 yards)

so #1 246meters (269yards)
#2 326meters (356yards)
#3 161meterss (176yards)
and so on

Re: Road to break 90

I was gonna say my home course is 6,300 and has a similar rating but slope of only 113. Now it makes sense. That's not really a short course at all.

Re: Road to break 90

eh, it'a a time when 90 is not a good score for me, at least at my golf course.

nothing was working for me from the beginning, 1st shot, out of bounds
on 9th decent tee shot but ball stopped under the tree

on 14th 2nd shot into the huge bunker, mis**** 3rd and was still in the bunker but could go for a green and had to play to the side (rough)

#15 id dogleg left, normally I hit driver over the trees but there was front wind so decided to play straight, immediately after the shot wind stopped and my shot was too far and out of bounds

at least won the longest drive competition on #18

finished T20 so my goal is reached, but not that happy after yesterday

my HCP is 13.7 now

Re: Road to break 90

Hi LFC,

I havent read the whole thread start to finish but looking at your last couple of rounds you have posted your card is looking much better, you do however seem to make 3 or 4 double bogeys or worse. this obviously makes a huge differnce to your score as making a bogey at worse will knock 5 or 6 shots off your score.

what usually happens when you make these scores?

Re: Road to break 90

It's really hard to tell but I feel like most of the big scores in those rounds are because poor long game.
Either driver into the big rough or under a tree and had to take unplayable lie. And of course out of bounds from the tee
or poor approach shots- into the rough or into the bunkers.

My short game is decent in recent days- but the one with good lie, I'm also happy with my putting.
I think I believe dagolfdoc said that most chip/pitch shots are from good lie and this is what I'm working on mostly. But i need to work on those shots from big rough.
Also need to improve my approach shots from 35m-80m since lately I'm very often this far from the green and still not making birdies at all

So it's hard to tell if it's either a long game or short game, but imho it's mainly my long game.

Few weeks/months ago (before i break 90) I wrote that I feel like I'm able to score a really low score. Now I feel that 70's is waiting for me. Let's hope i didn't jinx myself

Re: Road to break 90

Hi LFC,

I am jealous.......... 10 GIR.

My best score is 81 and I had 2 GIR (9 up & downs with 3 sand saves helped)

With 10 GIR and more saves you will be shooting in the 70's in no time.

You are right though for my blow out holes also tend to occur with the long game as well. It's hard to make par's or save bogey when you are hitting out of trees, water etc and wasting a shot advancing the ball sideways or backwards.

Keep up the excellent progress.

Cheers

Steve

Re: Road to break 90
