RBC Canadian Open

I am on vacation for the week up here in Niagara Falls, I know the Canadian open will be going on and I got the OK to attend one practice round and one of the four main days. It is in Hamilton about 45 min away, so it should be fun. For you guys who have golf channel please let me know what group they are following so I can scream Mash potatoes or get in the hole!! JK I cant stand that crap.

Oh if anyone here wants to get in a round while I am here let me know.

If it's anything like the practice round I went to at Angus Glen, you'll only know who they are if you recognize them. You'll probably be able to get a lot closer to them, though.

Re: RBC Canadian open.

I played Grand Niagara today with a slope of 133, and after my last three rounds this one just riped my heart out and stomped on it. I am going to attend Tuesday practice round and one of the main event days, prolly Thursday cause I have a couple Kentucky boys playing that I have met before that most likely wont make the cut.

haven't clicked thru but i see ernie's diss of canada was #1 story on canoe. really it was nothing and he back-tracked. i guess he somewhat identified tourney as minor

anyone interested in splitting tix? kijiji has great deals on week passes for 2. i only want to go 1 day unless it's super-easy to get in/out

other than canadians that i'm personally interested in, i don't see anyone on list that is "must-see"'

Re: RBC Canadian open.

Chris Ross got an invite today. The course they are playing is actually his home course. He graduated from Eastern Michigan 2 or 3 years ago. He made a little money on the Hooters and Carolina tour over the winter, with a win. If he makes the cut, I'm going on Saturday.

How'd you like Grand Niagara? i've played a bunch of times in the falls, but haven't played that one yet. I hear it's a real treat.

btw, if you're looking for courses to play this week near Hamilton, check out Copetown Woods. It's a favourite of mine (I drive over an hour to play it at least 5-6 times a year) and I was just there on the weekend and their greens are in spectacular shape. It's a fairly benign 'links' course but the conditioning, price and staff make it worth playing again and again.

Re: RBC Canadian open.

Just my two cents cause taste can't be debated but Spottswoode have you played Willow Valley? I think its a better track than Copetown woods although Copetown has a great "early bird" deal if you don't mind waking up early... Enjoy the area there's some great tracks around!

Re: RBC Canadian open.

I've heard willow valley is in deplorable condition this year actually, but I have never played it myself.

Very nice track grand Niagara is, But it is a hard course, but the beauty of it is nice. Great Carts, really nice people, and just all around great experiance. Just the cost is great, im used to the nicest courses where I am from be 40 to 50$ per round, here is about 50 to 110 to play normal courses. Im guessing cause how short the seasons are that they have to make it more.
